This hotel is interesting in that each room is designed by a different designer. So, this review, to be fair is only for our one room, which I did not particularly like. We were spoiled by another hotel in the area too, so there was a striking difference with this hotel and expectations were set due to similar price and prestige. The staff here was not stellar - not great with English (yes, I know it is Japan, but these kinds of hotels should have some English support), and I did not like having to lug my bags down 15 steps to get to an elevator. The room we had (White Room) was modern but already looking like a former trend, plastic-y and the bathroom had little ventilation so it was too moist in there. The bathroom floor was wet after showers due to their way of channeling water. There was NO wireless in the room - only the lobby area. Beds were ok. Pajamas and robes supplied were excellent. The iPod dock was dated and would not accept our newer iPhone/iPod Touch. Fortunately I had a cable and could just hook up in its place. Bicycles were available for 1200 yen per day but at other hotel they were free AND really cool power assisted versions. Location is excellent for The Screen - in the heart of a great neighborhood. Perhaps that's why it can command the same price. But I was not feeling compelled to return... It is certainly a nice hotel, just not exceptional. One other nit-pick. Hotel uses card keys like any modern hotel. Just in this case, the room number is printed on the back! Not so secure.. but then again, in Japan, no worries.
