ANA hotel is a nice hotel. Location is very good. right across from Nijo Castle. Easy bus ride from Kyoto train station. Not sure rooms worth the price. Normal size for Japan but not great. Lobby area beautiful and lot's of restaurants at hotel. Hotel is a bit of a far walk to any other tourist destinations ( Shrines and temples).

2. Daily breakfast - You can choose either Japanese 'a la cart' menu (my preference) or Western buffet menu (same menu every part of the world)
3. Room size was typical Japanese one, difficulty in keeping extra luggages. Surprisingly bathroom mirror has heated technology, so there is no fogging after hot bath (good one)
4. Free shuttle service to and fro from station, but only available until 7.45pm, if you come afterwards, must take a taxi from the Kyoto station, will cost 1200 yen. In order to use this facility, must exit through H gate in Kyoto station.
5. Wifi only available at the lobby, LAN available in the room.
6. Place is just opposite to Nijo castle and nearby subway station (comfortable to wind around the city).

I stayed in 2 hotels during my stay in Kyoto. The ANA was right across the road from Nijo Castle and had a free shuttle to Kyoto station, perfect for me to get the cycle shop where I had hired my bike for the 2 days. The hotel was a little dated but the service and cleanliness were excellent. I was also lucky enough to get a castle view. There is also an underground station across the road (all very important if you are using public transport). I moved to another area for my 3rd day as I wanted to be in the Gion area of the city but this hotel suited my needs perfectly for the first part of my stay.

The Ana Hotel is located opposite Nijo Castle and is well located for local sights. The furniture and fittings in the rooms are dated but are perfectly adequate. The rooms are gigantic for Japan. The staff were all very helpful and freindly. There is a great coffee shop a few metres from the hotel, go out the front and turn left...good for breakfast.
