If you are looking for a nice, economical hotel near Peace Park, this is it. Rooms are small (this is Japan), but the breakfast is huge, and it's included in the price. Great value.

There are two Comfort Hotels very close to each other on this main strip in Hiroshima, the one we stayed at was the one further south. From the JR station, you can take the #1 Tram (Streetcar) directly to this hotel. A taxi ride will cost about 1,700 Yen. You can buy an unlimited day pass when you board the Tram so you don’t have to get a ticket in advance. The hotel is clean and quiet and as per Japanese standard (quite small). The staff is very friendly and helpful and the complimentary breakfast is great in that it offers Japanese style and Western style food.

Unlike a lot of other Japanese cities, there is actually not much going on near the train station in Hiroshima, so even though this Comfort Hotel is not within walking distance from the train station, it’s actually a lot closer to where you want to be anyway. From here, you can walk to the Peace Park and Museum and from there to the shopping area near Hon Dori. A cab ride to the main entertainment/bar area of Nagarekawacho from the hotel is about 700 Yen.

The hotel has laundry machines that are open 24 hours at the main lobby level and is situated close to several convenient stores and eateries that are open 24 hours as well.

While this was my first time in Hiroshima, I can safely say that this hotel is much better than most business man hotels that I have stayed at elsewhere in Japan and not significantly more in terms of cost so very good value for the dollar (or yen).

I stayed for a night at this place in Hiroshima in august 2010 after visiting the Peace memorial. The hotel is within easy walking distance from the Peace park, close to the trams and shops.
There is a great Japanese restaurant on the same street a little further away- probably the best i have had in Japan during that trip.
The hotel itself is no frills- breakfast is free and quite a lot- only problem is it can get quite crowded. there is free coffee/tea in the lobby 24 hours- quite good. There is free internet in the lobby as well. Got to set it to English though, people around are more than willing to help. Room was very comfortable though it smelled of cigarette smoke. there were bath slippers, the toilet equipped with sensors as most places in Japan.There was a TV, comfortable beds. There was a self use laundry on site (useful if you are travelling light) Front desk staff spoke English and were reasonably helpful.
All in all a great value option.
