We stayed at the Ark Hotel in Hiroshima and used it as a base to visit the A-Bomb Dome & Peace Park, watched a Hiroshima Carp baseball game and took a day trip to Miyajima. We were able to walk to the new baseball stadium in 10 minutes, the JR station is 5 minutes away, and the tram stop to the A-Bomb Dome was right around the corner. Excellent breakfast buffet in the morning, rivals many more expensive hotels. Parking is available for only 800/yen a day. My only complaints are: 1) the hotel staff entered and cleaned the room while there was a "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the door... normally not a big deal, but a plastic bag containing a credit card was mistaken for trash and thrown away!! 2) High speed Internet in the room was not free.
