We stayed there for a night with a package that includes 1. deluxe room for 2, 2. dinner buffet, 3. breakfast (western style buffet, or japanese style breakfast set). The total price for 2 persons was something less than 19000jpy.
The room was very spacious, and the facilities were nice and new. We loved them, totally.
On top of all, their food was oh-so-good. For the dinner, we had a buffet which featured stuffs like roastbeef, steak, salads, soup, Japanese-style stewed seafood, veggies, AND, Chinese style foods. Oh, I forgot desserts, a whole selection of desserts, even OTC ice cream concoctions with which you can add many kinds of toppings like nuts, fruits, everything and this nice lady mixes the stuffs on the cold stone plate exclusively for you.
A little something for everyone, literally. Everything was so tasty, unlike some crappy assorted foods called buffet in places like Hakone or Tokyo. I suppose even if you have big appetites, it's hard to sample everything.
As for the breakfast, we choose Japanese style set menu. It was no ordinary breakfast. Basically, we detest soymilk, or tonyu in Japan, because of the bad tastes and everything. However, the tonyu on our tray was shining, like a jewel, so I tried it first and it tasted like vichyssoise, only better. The rest of the set was like japanese style omelet, steamed rice, very yummy tofu w/superyummy sauce, baked fish, miso soup, nori, and so on.
Seriously, it looks like Hiroshima is the best place for food lovers. It was the first time we went there, and everything tasted better than the rest of Japan, like Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Chiba, Tokyo, where they serve yucky to ok food, but limited to ok, not extraordinarily delicious unless you pay like crazy. (Tochigi is another great gourmet place in Japan, but they don't have an ocean so the culinary options are limited to the products from rivers, lakes and mountains.)
We'd love to visit Hiroshima again, sometime in the future, for we didn't get to try their local delicacy called Uni-Horen (fresh sea-urchin served on top of butter-sauteed spinach, they serve this at teppanyaki joints). In addition, we haven't tried their okonomiyaki yet (Hiroshima-yaki sold in Chiba tends to be so yucky you often get sick, but the real ones in Hiroshima tastes really good - a testimony from my associates).
So in overall, we loved them so much. The staffs were couteous, nice and efficient. The room was clean. And, the package included dinner and breakfast, so we didn't need to worry about spending too much on meals. Actually, the chinese restaurant located in the hotel complex was pretty tempting (their lunch was cheap, for japanese standard, only 2000jpy per a person), we had no time for that.
Anyways, I'd recommend this hotel for everybody planning a vacation in Hiroshima (especially, those with kids who tend to get fussy with food). I saw many kids eating there happily, all smiling.
