This hotel is very good for money. Electronic appliances are quite new i.e. warm toilet seat. Room is quite spacious (to Japanese standard) with cabinet and yukata. Staff speak English well. It’s very convenient for food e.g. 7-11 store, 24-hour noodle chain restaurant (yummy).
This hotel is closed to Tram Stop (M5). From Hiroshima Shinkansen Station, take tram 1,2 0r 6 to Kanayamacho stop (M5). From M5 stop, walk back to the Kyobashigawa river; turn right to immediate road before 7-11 store then the hotel is on the left.
For sightseeings, Miyajima island is the must for the famous red torii gate – Japanese Top 3 scenic spots. You have to try Oyster there. Be there in the morning for high-tide and wait til noon for low tide. In case of no JR pass, you may buy One-day Trip card (street car and ship) at 840 Yen that is valid for all street car lines terminates at Hiroden Miyajima-guchi Station and Matsudai tourist ship. This save 150 Yen (one way) for going to JR station for JR train and it also can be used for traveling in Hiroshima; but streetcar is slower than JR train as 65 mins-street car traveling time from M1 to Miyajima compared to 25 mins by JR train (anyway you save time by not have to go to JR station).
I also recommend Japanese Top 3 bridge – Kitai-bridge (kyo) at Iwakuni that is about 1 hour from Miyajima (JR train + City Bus). Very impressive bridge. You should try soft cream there.
You should visit to Atomic Bomb Dome (M10) and then walk along the river and it’s beautiful. Also, you cannot miss Okonomi-mura (Okonomiyaki Village) – get off Hachobori-M7, walk straight to the road parallel to the hotel. It’s black building with Big Echo Karaoke. It’s has the best Leek Okonomiyaki I ever tried. But the best food is Hiroshima Noodle (Dip Noodle – must try). After dinner, walk to M6 for night area of Hiroshima.
By the way, I booked the hotels for my 14-day trip in Japan via Japanican.com. It’s very easy
