Looks like it's been recently refurbished - the whole place looks and feels new. Room was bigger than expected for this price range in Japan, and the furnishings and decor are modern and trendy. Everything in the room was of good quality (notably, a very good TV). Fast LAN internet in the room and the usual array of amenity gadgets were all welcome additions. Staff were very helpful and there's a free internet area in the lobby with computers, along with drinks vending machines.

Breakfast buffet was included in the price (most places charge you Y1000+ extra) and was all right but not spectacular. There are Japanese and Western options on the breakfast buffet.

It's got a superb position right opposite JR Sapporo station, from which you can get trains and buses all over Hokkaido (I visited Noboribetsu onsen town which is about an hour away - good walking trails around an active volcano!). Walking south takes you into the heart of Sapporo and the furthest main sights (e.g. the Sapporo TV Tower and the Sapporo fish market - make sure you try the market fresh sushi!) are no more than 25 mins' walk. JR Sapporo Station has a big selection of restaurants and shops. The botanical gardens about 10 mins' walk west of the station are worth a visit too.

Spent 5 nights here on my holiday in Sapporo. The biggest selling point for this hotel is its location which was superb for rail and bus travel which I relied on. There were things that I didn't like, however - the small room, total lack of closet space, room and corridor that stank of stale cigarette smoke...may be good as it forces you to spend as little time in the hotel as possible! In the end, I wouldn't stay here again if I returned for a 2nd visit to Sapporo.

Unbeatable location, right across Sapporo JR station south exit, the hotel shares building with Yomiuri Shimbun. Should it rain or snow, there is a underground passageway leading to the hotel from JR station, just walk towards APIA's Food Walk and you will see signs with direction to Hotel Gracery.

Being close to Hokkaido's busiest JR station means having access to multiple choices of restaurants, shops and malls. My favorites are Sapporo Ramen Republic, Pokemon Center, Namco Wonder Park, BIC Camera, 100yen Shop in ESTA, and Lotteria, Lawson (convenience shop) and Yoshinoya in APIA.

Just 5 mins walk away from the hotel is Old Hokkaido Government House, a major tourist attraction. From there, you can continue your stroll to Sapporo Clock Tower and then to Sapporo TV Tower and Odori Park.

Hotel room is small, not unexpected of a business hotel, but design of the room's layout is well thought-out, so unless you have humongous luggage, room space should be ample for a comfortable stay. Internet access is available via LAN cable in the room.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my hushand and parent. The hotel was chosen because of its central location - 1 min to train station and shopping mall - super convenient. The room condition was clean and OK. It's value for money!
