Keio Plaza hotel is located to the north of Sapporo city centre, three blocks to the west of the main train station and right opposite the Botanical gardens. It's quite convenient to the main shopping areas (e.g. Daimaru), but a little but further from the southern part of the city (e.g. soba alley!). The hotel itself is a standard tower block. Check in was friendly, with instant attention paid to luggage and storage of luggage. Check in time of 2 pm was rigidly enforced, but it wasn't a problem. The rooms were spacious and clean with standard Western style furnishings. Amenities included a bar-fridge, ioniser, flat screen tv, and tea-coffee making facilities. The reason for the ioniser become clear as both rooms strongly smelt of residual cigarette smoke, which never dissipated even after two nights of constant ionising. I strongly recommend asking for a non-smoking room, if such a thing exists in Japan. Rooms overlooked Sapporo city and the edge of the Botanic gardens.
Other than that, our stay was completely uneventful. All service was impeccably and politely provided, and breakfast choices were more than adequate, with a mixture of Western and Japanese choices. Beds were very comfortable, and we were not troubled by intruding noise from surrounding rooms. Internet access was available, but chargeable.
