The Sapporo Prince was a nice business and tourist-oriented hotel, clean and comfortable. The location was okay, we were lucky to have a local drive us around a bit. We never did figure out how to get there on public transport and took mostly cabs in our couple of days there. It is a high-rise so we had an nice view, our room was clean though the decor was not that attractive, it seemed updated so it wasn't old, just maybe not my favorite colors. The breakfast, which was included, was really excellent, more of a brunch with lots of western choices as well as an elaborate and tasty Japanese breakfast. The public bath was also pretty nice, not huge but it was open air which was refreshing. All in all, it was a nice base for a few days stay in Sapporo.

The room I stayed was really compact. Literally had no space to walk around with my luggage opened up. They have a "hot spring" on the 2nd floor but it was really small - 2 pools: one indoor, one with open roof.
Staffs are courteous - I guess it is not a selling point as it is more like a Japanese culture.
One of the positives of this hotel is its proximity. It is located right in the heart of Sapporo.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights on the occasion of a conference. It is a big, not particularly attractive building on a big and busy boulevard. The level of traffic noise on the 16th floor was acceptable. The location is slightly off centre but only a 3 min walk from the subway (underground transit, metro) and 10 minutes from Susukino, the part of central Sapporo where lots of people go out at night. The taxi ride from Sapporo train station takes less than 10 minutes and costs just under 10,000yen (5 UK pounds).
The service as always in Japan is personal, discrete and detailed. Being a big hotel, there are numerous restaurants and an attractive bar with great views on the 28th floor. We took breakfast in the main restaurant lobby, which offers a buffet, and the French-style restaurant on the 28th floor which was good. The spa is minimal but perfectly ok. There does not seem to be permenantly designated smoke-free rooms or floors. Ours was ok in terms of remnant cigarette odour. At around 20,000 yen per night, we thought value for money was ok.
