This hotel has the best location in Sapporo as you are in the JR station complex that includes Daimaru department stores and tons of shops and restaurants. Take the escalator to the B1 floor right after you exit the front door and there is a 7-11 convenient store there. Ask for South facing rooms as the views are better, especially at night where you can see light decorations. We had a North facing room on the 30th floor that did not have the same view. However our overall experience was positive.

There is now no doubt, JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo is a great hotel. My room always cleans & tidy every day. Really comfortable, plus best service from the staff.

Very nice view from our room - we stayed in a corner room. Very spacious (especially in Japan!) and clean. Internet is free-of-charge which was fantastic. Breakfast was included and there was a good variety. Very friendly and polite staff who spoke good english and gave us alot of assistance. I would definitely stay here again next time I visit Sapporo!

This is the second time my family and I stayed at the JR Tower Hotel. Like the first time, we stopped over here for a night after our ski holiday in Niseko. In one word- convenient! The hotel is over the JR station, so we took the train from Kutchan (Niseko) to Sapporo (it's a 2 1/2 hour journey with lots of great people watching!) and to the airport the next day. The hotel is flanked by two major department stores and is above a labryrinth of shops and restaurants. We always find it refreshing to be in the city again after a week of snow and mountains.

As for the rooms, they were starting to look tired but were still okay. There were other hotels across the street and almost as convenient if you have manageable luggage, however they seemed older.
