Great place stay while in Hangzhou. Although it's not near the Lake or the tourist areas (no Pizza Hut here LOL), it does have a great restaurant, is within walking distance to bars and other restaurants.

The front desk staff is very helpful. This is were I exchange my US dollars for RMB's. It's a very fair exchange rate and they will swap them back for me at the end of my visit.

I have stayed at this hotel many times, mainly for its location and lack of surprises. You get what you expect from a business hotel. Nothing special, but nothing too bad either. The taxi drivers certainly know where to find it.

My local office suggested this hotel as the Hyatt was too expensive for me. I stayed here for four days and overall the experience was good. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, the rate included a breakfast which had a very large array of food. The location,while not on the lake, was close to a shopping area with a Pizza Hut, Mickey D's and in another direction a Starbucks.
The hotel has no western managers, but when I asked in the coffee shop they said there was one in the lobby, I spoke to this man and he is from Spain or Brazil, his english is soo bad that I found it easier to deal with the Chinese staff. A funny thing happened. Each day I would wait in the lobby for the car to take me to the local office, so I would observe this westerner. I guess his job was to greet people but the only ones he would greet were the pretty Chinese girls, he ignored every one else.
Anyway as they say not my problem. I will definitely stay here again. The room rate I paid here would allow me to stay for three nights compared to one night at the Hyatt.
