Stayed here for business meeting for 1 week. Stategically located in the busy city of Hangzhou. 10 minutes travelling distance by cab to famous West Lake. Decent hotel with good facilities. Unfortunately the room layout is rather cramp and it the room deco needs refurbishment. Lives up to the standard of 5 star hotel for the breakfast selection.

This was my first stay at Ladison hotel, but overall experience was not pleasant and very disappointed. I will pick another hotel next time when I have a business in Hangzhou.

Where to start, well the first experience was at check-in time. Front desk staff didn’t understand English and ignored my question about the club floor. The front desk staff just replied "no club floor”, though they have club level. They said that my room was non-smoking. Yes I found a tiny paper with non-smoking sign on the desk, but actually the room smelled very bad like ashtray. Obviously they don’t understand the basic rule and concept of non-smoking room. Talking about the smell of cigarette, I smelled cigarette smoke at the breakfast restaurant because they have a smoking section inside the restaurant.

One evening I experienced the room key card malfunction, and the front desk staff blamed me for it. Maybe, but lacking the hospitality. With overall experiences, I was a bit frustrated, and shared my concerns to another front desk staff. She just listened to me, but did nothing. She didn’t try to resolve any of issues, no apologies. I realized that I was in China.

As other reviewer wrote, the hotel entrance has very small space and always packed with cars. I stayed at king size bed room, but it comes with two queen beds, and it’s very firm. At one night the turn down service came to my room at 9:20pm. Too late, and annoying. No morning newspaper delivery service. The number of non-Chinese language TV programs was small, around 12. This was a very nice hotel, with excellent buffet service and good amenities. Unfortunately, they are building a new hotel next door, and the lobby felt like you were inside of a pounding drum during the day and late afternoon. Both the buffet dinner and a dinner in the hotel's Italian restaurant were outstanding.

Have stayed at this hotel for business twice over the past year-and-a-half during which time it has been under constant renovation. Hotel amenities are limited (as of my last visit the entire lobby was walled off for construction). The location is very inconvenient as the entrance is off an access lane, which makes getting taxis a time-consuming process. Rooms are dated, on the small side, with small windows and so rather dark. On the bright side the hotel staff are helpful.
