I stayed for three nights with family in November 2011. My brother was diagnosed with parasites by a dermatologist upon his return to the U.S. and he may or may not have contracted the parasites at this property. I wouldn't be surprised if he did, since the couch on which he slept was filthy as was the carpet. The carpet was so filthy that my parents couldn't stop talking about it (though we stayed at much more remote and rural areas during our trip to China).

Other negatives include the unappetizing and threadbare breakfast buffet, the service which was inattentive and the hallways filled with cigarette smoke.

The location is excellent (literally across the street from West Lake and very close to great restaurants like Waipojia). But the negatives far outweigh this one positive.

It was really close to the west lake, just need to cross the road. The surrounding commercial area was really convenient which could provide everything we needed. You could find excellent Hangzhou local restaurants by only 5min walk.
The facilities and room size was not bad for the price. Quite good choice if you want to go sightseeing in Hangzhou.

My first time to Hangzhou. Location of hotel is good. Don't try their breakfast. It is a lousy.

I stayed in this hotel for just one night solely for the purpose of doing a one day sightseeing of Hangzhou before proceeding elsewhere.

I arrived at night and checked out the next morning. So I did not have much chance to use the hotel's facilities, except the free broadband internet, which is not bad. The room is of reasonable size and it's simple and clean.

As far as location is concerned, the Westlake is just across the road and nearby, there are many restaurants and fast food chains, such as Pizza Hut and KFC.

This is one hotel you can consider if you just want to spend a day or two exploring Hangzhou.
