We recently stayed at the Tea Boutique Hotel for 4 nights. Staff were incredibly helpful; booked our return train tickets to Shanghai and assisted us with writing things down in chinese for us to give to taxi drivers etc. Had no problems communicating with them, they understood what we wanted and we understood them.
Hotel was as lovely in reality as it looked in the pictures. Room was very spacious and very quiet. Restaurant probably not completely suitable for someone with 'western' tastes but we still managed to have a nice meal.
Location was excellent, just across the road from the park which we walked through to the West Lake. Walmart and eating spots (suitable for the not so adventurous) a mere 5 minute walk away.
Business centre with free computer access, and espresso machine, located on the second floor.
Had a fabulous stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Hangzhou.
We liked the three sorts of tea provided, the spring water, the Wifi, our room (to the back and quiet).
The location, although not really great to access the West Lake, was actually quite good for going out at night. Two ok bars are in walking distance across the street (Maya and Youto Pub), and there are more restaurant options below the stadium, also near.
stayed for one night, arrived little late in the evening. check in was fine and the had really pleasant in room check in. everything well explained and have given the password to the wifi which never get connected but i don't want to be bother.
no bottle water in the room is became a big thing as i am very use to drink "a water" at mid night. i found a liter of water from "tiger spring" unsealed, god knows whether that is really from the tiger spring or from the tap.
have to waited for several minutes to get the water boiled and good 20 minutes to be able to drink it, well what to expect in the middle of the night??..
breakfast was a little joke; big plate with salad, baked potatoes and some other stuff, no one explain where to get the coffee, juice or tea or whatever..
the restaurant was very noisy with the "funny" ring tone either from the wait staff mobile phone or extension phone, unfortunately i am not a morning person so everything went wrong even after i checked out.
the management needs to take serious training to their staff performance and the hotel is not too cheap, compare to the other hotel with better service and facilities within Hangzhou..
We stayed 2 nights at the Tea Boutique Hotel. This is a wonderful hotel, very quiet, simple and classy. The room was large, modern and very comfortable. Perfectly clean. There is wifi in the room and throughout the hotel.
We had dinner there on our first night and liked it so much that we decided to have our second dinner there too. We particularly enjoyed the sweet and sour fish, an excellent dish with an original presentation. The restaurant attracts a local crowd, from what we could see. So, it does not have the « dull atmosphere » of many hotel restaurants.
The bar by the lobby was very busy the first night (Halloween party for alumni of a college), but quiet the second night. Even on the busy night, the noise did not get to our room.
It is possible to walk to the West lake, but it is a longish walk. If you want to save your energy for the park and the lake, you can take the local bus which stops in front of the hotel. Hotel staff will willingly explain how to get to the lake by bus (I think it’s only 3 stops away).
