Stayed for one night on a layover flying from Chiang Mai to Beijjng.

Convenient for KMG, 5-10 minute cab drive.

Huge hotel, decent front desk service.

Rooms characterless but functional.

Breakfast, lots of choice but nothing really wow.

Overall decent but nothing special.

This is a 5-star hotel that exceeded all of my expectations in every way - with a lovely Western bed!. I stayed for 12 days on the south side of the complex and it was amazing. Room service, house keeping, laundry/dry cleaning, the front desk were excellent!

The rooms in this hotel are very good and everything appears clean (even the carpets!) The size of the rooms are also very generous and Broadband internet is provided. The beds are a little on the hard side- fairly typical of Chinese hotel beds. Location- is not in the main downtown lake part of Kunming however it is very close to a large shopping centre and not too far from the airport making it a good business hotel. The buffet selection is wide although it never varies and western food is a little more difficult to find if you don't eat Chinese food. There is a self serve espresso machine that makes a decent coffee. The bar / lounge area is large but there is no "non-smoking" area - These are difficult to find in Kunming as large amounts of tobacco are grown in the region! Communication with staff can be a little challenging - so our Chinese needs to improve in order to ask for frozen margaritas!! The bar staff are very accommodating and always smiling!

Stayed here recently. Was upgraded to Suite which was very spacious. Even normal rooms are very spacious. Nice hotel with good ambiance. However if you are a foreigner for china then few things may be important to you. English is not spoken by most staff. Had tough time in asking for sugar in the room and realised that the exercise was not worth considering the time I spent for it. Everywhere people smoke including the lobbies and restaurants. Dont think they have too many international chefs. Its not comparable to international hotels like the famous Shangrillas of China. However, if you are fine with the issues mentioned, go ahead. It wont disappoint you.
