No axe to grind here as I am 100% travel with over 60 country experience almost
none of that on cruises or tours. Yes I am on a 35 day Asian 'tour' at this moment but that's
the way Asia is done in my books.
To the point, I am at this hotel AT THIS MOMENT and happened to review some of these
comments or whines to be exact; NO TOAST ... I have had eggs on my toast each morning with the best toaster experienced so far, NO INTERNET ... does this review anwer that winge, STREET VIEW ROOM ... well our street view was kind of interesting and the front of the hotel
view to 'lake' is substantially tree lined, SERVICE ... we left our do not disturb electic light on by mistake while we were at the Stone Forest and decided we could live with our towels BUT within 3 minutes of our arrival staff was at our door offering clean up, AND SERVICE as we locked ourselves out of the safe with a buzzing alarm going and staff were in our room with problem fixed within 5 minutes.
The hotel looks like something our to Las Vegas which is not our cup of tea but Vegas gets about 60 million bad taste customers a year.
Our guide told us that this was the best hotel in town ... my wife and I feel it has been more than a pleasant experience. BEST right across from the park which offers a wonderful
vista of local life in Kunming. Did not see another westerner in the park which was even better. Do people travel to whine when they should just relax, take a breath and have a glass of wine.
PS on check out ... in Xian at check out, the westerner behind muttered how slow check out was when my check out had just begun ... he was right behind me, looking right over my shoulder at the wrong proximity ... so I asked him if he wanted to step up which he replied that I was still being served ... I motioned to move ahead and he did not understand my sarcasm or his rudeness. He's problably complaining to Trip Advisor at this moment about that check out experience.
