We stayed here for 4 nights and the twin room was pretty clean with only a few problems. The toilet leaked and the shower did not drain well at all.
The staff seemed very different on different days. One girl said we could stay an extra 2 nights and to pay the next day. The next day we were told the room was booked!
We managed to sort something out in the end.
Some staff are friendly and others seem very unhelpful. When seeing a poster saying they can book tickets for train, plane and busses, I asked if they could book me a train and I was sharply told I would have to get my ticket from the train station.

Me and my partner lost one of our train tickets and when asking for help with what to do, the two girls on reception laughed and told my partner that there was nothing we could do!

Dispite this our stay was filled with free pool and we met some great people. The food in the bar was pretty good and not too expensive. Not much selection for veggies but hay this is china!

The location is pretty close to attractions and restaurants. Good bus services near by and easy to get to from train station.

An average stay!

We stayed for two nights with our two young daughters. The rooms were ok but . . .
- very bored, unhappy staff. They are not "friendly and helpful" as sue reviewers state.
- poor food

Located in a central area of Kunming. Room rates are very cheap -as it is a hostel - and is quite clean. They also have a bar attached serving food till 11pm, and also have a table tennis and pool table which adds to a very communal feel.

Staff are very friendly and helpful, and seems to be a safe and popular place to stay.

Good: above average cleanliness; toilets can use some fragrance but otherwise clean;
Location: the description provided is absolute disaster; took me more than half hour walking back and forth; try this; when you alight at Yunnan Daily Stop, you will be in Xinwen Road; Walk in the opposite (reverse) direction for about 1 minutes and you will see the main road again (Xichang Road); turn left here; walk for about 1 minute along Xichang Road (or Zhuangtang Rd, where there is an elementary school on the left); turn left at Zhuangtang Rd (yes, confusing here as there are two Zhuangtang Rds here - one for even numbered units and the other for odd numbered units). Walk for another 1 min or less and Cloudland is on your left

Bad: mosquitoes aplenty; Yellow colored bricks; Cloudland signage is not so obvious. I got a few bites from here which i thought were mosquito bite initially; turned out they are bed bug bites and the itch is very intense and lasts for many days. Wear something that completely covers your body but at night the blanket can get very warm.
