After comparing a lot of similar hotels in the area, most of which were slightly cheaper, I went with Super 8 as it was closest to the airport bus stop. Check in took quite a while (not sure why), and then I was given the room furthest away from reception as possible (a nice long walk). The room was ok, although the air-con took quite a long time to get going. The bathroom was laughable - there was a shower curtain running parallel with the wall at a distance of about 20cm. I'm not sure if you were meant to drape yourself with the curtain whilst letting the luke warm dribble of water hit your head, or what. The internet broke on the first evening - the staff said there was nothing they could do - not much help if you have work to do. Check out took 20 minutes, and even with that time, the staff weren't able to cancel the deposit charged to my credit card, which I was told I would have to wait a month to "automactially clear". Hmmmm. I thought that a US-managed hotel would be better than some of the home-grown hotels, but I was wrong. Never again for Super 8, there's too much competition.

Location is great. There is a park about a block away across the main street. At about 2 - 3 blocks is the Drum Tower. Go visit, it's worth it to see the old drums and for the views of the flowers and trees in the park. Surrounding that is tourist shopping! This is one of the best trinket shopping areas I have seen. We spent around half of a day here.
Hotel:
I can't say much about the service as our sister-in-law took care of everything. The room was 'cleaned' every day of the 3 nights we were there. I used quotation marks because the cleanliness was good, but not great. Still clean enough that I didn't consider changing hotels.
Tour buses seems to stop here, as we took tours 2 days and the bus picked us up out front...to go to the tour bus area to consolidate people for the different tours to get on the right size bus. We were a group of 6, so we could get shuffled around some.
The rooms had a strange half-step to get in the shower. And the sink area was very small. Also it seems toilet paper is a valuable item. We ran out and asked room service for some, which was quickly brought up, and it was about a half a roll. It was good for a laugh. He did say if we needed more to ask.
We had rooms facing the 'courtyard'. Windows were a little dirty.
The other side of the hotel faced the street of sign makers. Watch where you walk during working hours.
There are a few restaurants nearby.
Also one good-sized mall on the same block where we bought emergency tennis shoes for a good price. XOXO brand. There is a larger mall about 4 - 6 blocks away that we didn't go to.
