We stayed in this hotel for two nights as a part of our China tour. The rooms are very comfortable with all amenities fit for a five star hotel. The bath room is equally good and well equipped with all essentials. The hotel houses a fairly large shopping arcade although as expected things are little bit expensive. There is a walking street adjacent to the hotel which is indeed a bargain shopper's paradise. You get to buy traditional Chinese articles such as dolls, artefacts, souvenirs etc. The street also houses a good number of eating places. All in all a very good place to relax and spend the evening. In the evenings, there is an artificial waterfall created from the top of the hotel which flows over the back wall of the hotel that an be seen from the walking street. This is a great sight and perhaps one of its kind. The hotel overlooks a lake which has two pagodas called the golden and silver pagodas. The pagodas are lit in the evening and is an equally good sight to behold.

The Lijiang Waterfall Hotel in beautiful Guilin is perfectly located. If you are lucky enough to get a room overlooking Fir Tree Lake and the Sun and Moon pagodas, you are in for a treat especially at night. We stayed on the waterfall side which was OK but the windows aren't as clean on the outside as they could be as they are subject to the 10 minute waterfall every night at 8:30pm (in November anyway).
The service was great. The free wired internet in the room wasn't working. I called the front desk and someone was in the room in five minutes and it was fixed.
After the waterfall show treat yourself to a walk around the lakes. The leasurely one hour walk around both lakes is a must do.
The only reason I rated the rooms at very good is that some rooms might not have a great view as they might even face inside the atrium.

This is a fairly typical Chinese 4* hotel in a great location with helpful staff. Huge lobby, impressive atrium, full services, large rooms and very close to the Sun and Moon pagodas and shopping areas. We would certainly stay here again if returning to Guilin.

Great location, very upscale for a Chinese hotel, not 5-star by western standards.

Rooms we large and clean, except for the dank air. Better than most though. We stayed on the non-smoking floor, but the room still had the I've been smoked in scent.

Our toilet could not handle paper. We needed twice to call for help. I don't like using the little bucket in my expensive hotel.

Breakfast offered a lot, but neither the Asian nor the western breakfasts were particularly tasty.

We stood in the park and had a blast as the hotel became a waterfall. Only in China can take a photo of a rainbow made from street lights shining through a waterfall down the front of a hotel!
