I stayed at this hotel In November 2011. The hotel is quite dated and needs work and the service is anything less than stellar.
We arrived at Guagzhou airport expecting our car service that we arranged with the hotel to be waiting for us upon our arrival. We waited 15 minutes until finally an out of breath hotel representative showed up explaining that he had fallen asleep while waiting for us. To add insult to injury he did not know his way around the airport and we walked for what seemed was at least 3KM before he finally found the car. Once he found the car, we realized that the car was parked in an illegal area, we all needed to jump over a 4 foot barrier with our luggage just to get to the car.
We arrived at the hotel after a 30 minute drive. We booked 2 deluxe non smoking rooms, with 2 double beds and one with king sized bed. At checkin we were advised that our room choices were no available and all they had left was the one king sized room we reserved. They explained that the only room they had with two double beds was a smoking room. When we mentioned that we had guaranteed the reservation they did not care telling us the hotel was very busy and there was nothing they could do. In fact one of the staff explained that the guarantee means nothing.
We asked to speak to the manager on duty and were directed to Oscar who I must admit did his best in a difficult circumstance. He upgraded both rooms to suites, however he had no suite with two doubles and offered a pull away bed for the second person in my room to sleep on. Unfortunately the roll away that they sent was only a box spring and was too hard to sleep on.
The room was nice enough and well appointed but was filthy. There were stains on the carpet and just about every piece of furniture. They left me a bath matt that looked like it had not been cleaned in months. I was very shocked at the poor condition of the room.
The internet was extremely slow and kept dropping out. The food and beverage was the worst part of this hotel, to say it was terrible would be putting it mildly. The western restaurant is old and very outdated and the food is simply horrific. I did not have a chance to sample the Chines restaurant so can't comment on it.
Overall I would say that given the great number of hotel choices now available in Guangzhou this is one to definitely avoid.

stayed for one night at this hotel. the room and bathroom were spacious, clean and pleasant. the staff was courteous and upgraded me to the suite.

the hotel is 15-20 minutes taxi ride from Guangzhou east train station and commercial office area.

i would recommend this hotel to business travelers who are after functionality, convenience and value.

I want to write a review about this 'Chinese' hotel as my stay there was very confortable and the overall valuation is very positive! I had a free upgrade of the room which was very spacious, equipped with everything is neeeded and very new! The breakfast was great!Good position nearby new malls and very convenient to the subway. The only small issue is that the staff can hardly speak English so there can be some problems in the communications expecially at the restaurant...Anyway everybody tried to help samehow!
Weird policy at the spa: you must pay for a sauna even if you want to have a manicure!

I stayed here for the Canton Fair Phase 2 and was so disappointed. I am not a fussy traveller but this hotel is definietley not worth the money.

Firstly the staff in the restaurants, have no command of English - and whatever you ask for you are guaranteed to get something different.
There is no bar in the hotel - you can sit in the lobby but would take you 1/2 hour to get a drink There is nowhere to hang out apart from here or your room.
There is no pool - not good enough in my opinion for a 5 star hotel
The rooms are big but there is nothing in them. It's also clausterphobic - the windows don't open so you are relying on air conditioning the entire time.
I complained to the hotel about their service whilst I was there. I was to return for 1 night on my way back from Hong Kong and I didn't go. Would not recommend this hotel
