I stayed in this hotel in 2005. It was still being built and the surrounding parkland resembled a giant building site (quite a lot of building related noise early in the morning).
The staff of the hotel were friendly though obviously not yet used to having english speaking guests.
The rooms were clean and comfotable.
The facilities were good (internet connection in the rooms, etc.), although there wasn't a spa when I stayed there.
The hotel is quite far from Guangzhou center and kind of in the middle of nowhere.
The major negative point was the food, there was only one restaurant serving chinese food. The breakfast was also chinese style.
