Like many hotels in the larger cities in China, the Ocean, is tucked into quite a small space! But it is surprising how well it has turned out. A quite large reception area with a little shop and some tables where you can meet people or get a drink, or both!
Top class rooms, quite compact when compared to some, but so well set up and maintained that it is hardly noticeable. Restaurant on the top floor, great view (Except for the smog as usual) food is good and plentiful.

Excellent for bussines and turism. I stay 4 dasy and the attention was great, clean rooms and nice bathrooms. The breakfast is not soo good so i recomended to have brakfast in other place.

Iknow that many hotels tend to be pricy during the canton fair, it's expected and understood, however you are not ecxpected to charge way beyond resonable, which to be frank was my feeling during my stay.
hotel is located between many other hotel in its neighborhood that vary in level and in price but they all have one thing in common- they are all fully booked during the fair time.
many resturants and bars at walking distance.
so I booked to this one and found out that even though the breakfast area is located on the roof which i liked very much, the room itself was tiny and was barly enough to fit me and my luggage.
the rooms are clean and well maintained however some don't have windowes in them which adds to the clastrophobic feeling i had anyway.
service at the counter was basic, not great.
all in all if no other choice take this one and be aware to what you are getting.

Everything about this hotel is 'easy'.

The location is right in the business district (less than 10 mins walk to the world trade centre). There are always taxis outside, and the taxis can always find the hotel with no problems.

The staff are helpful, speak English, and remember your needs.

The rooms are modern, bedding is fresh, seems new, and clean every day.
Shower is powerful, bathroom is filled with toiletries daily. Were given clean dressing gowns and slippers every day.

When I was there the gym was closed for re - furbishment but the outdoor pool was clean and quiet and made for a relaxing swim after a busy day.
Internet in the room was usually fast and connected to your laptop with a wire (provided in the room).

The room service food is OK but there are quite a lot of good restaurants in the area so you don't need to use it. As well as Starbucks and The Friendship Store (Department store) so you can buy everything you need. If you book on expedia then the breakfast is not included so it is better to book direct through the hotel website (for the same price).

Note that the 'economy' rooms have no windows so ask for a 'superior' or 'business' room.

I would always stay here when in Guangzhou as I have never had any problems with them.
