The Hotel is located next to the old Dhahran Airport. Although a new Dammam International Airport about 50 km away serves the area now, the location of Dhahran International Hotel is convenient for people coming for business with Saudi Aramco, which is only five kilometers from the hotel. The rooms are in general ok and the hotel provides courtesy shuttles to Saudi Aramco headquarters everyday. The catering offers many choices and the food is usually very good. Dhahran International also serves as the venue for various official workshops, seminars and private parties. The staff is generally courteous (mostly South-Asian and Arab). We just had a bad experience for a private party there recently - our banquet contact went on vacation before spelling out all our contract terms and at the end of the party we ended up overpaying. When we challenged this the following morning, the manager concerned refused to reimburse us saying that "you havealready paid, you had a good party, I cannot reimburse you, thank you" and closed the door on us. Make sure you have all the contract items, however small, spelled out in the contract. Once you paid, the system will never reimburse you even if someone else made a mistake.
