“Good location and service for business travelers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

I stayed at this hotel during my business trip to Yekaterinburg in October 2011. I read a lot of reviews before to choose a hotel which is closed to place of my business meetings. There were a lot of different opportunities, but I decided to stay at the well known foreign hotel chain, Radisson. And I never regret about the choice I made.
All staff is friendly and helpful and speaks good English. During the checking they requested to make a deposit of 2,000 RUB for other services (dinner, ironing and other charges). I did it paying by credit card. After dinner (1,500 RUB) they called me and said there is no deposit on my account. I was really surprised and took a receipt as a proof of deposit charge and presented it to a receptionist. They apologized for their fault. There was only the problem I had during my stay.
So I advise you to keep all your receipts as a proof of payments you maid, just in case.
I booked a room with a business rate and a plate with a fresh fruits (an apple, orange and pear) was a good surprise. There were two bottles of still water, a small teapot with tea and instant coffee.
Room #302 was clean; all furniture was in a good condition.
Breakfast was served at the restaurant and had a lot different cold and hot dishes.

Room Tip: Try to book a room on the higher floor and far away from elevator. Room # 302 faces to a roof of the...

“Do yourself a favour, stay here and nowhere else!”

I stayed here with my theatre company while on tour for 4 days. It is a first-class European 4 star hotel. Spotless, real comfortable double beds even in single rooms, ideal soundproofing, all the hotel team is genuinely polite and upbeat. Amazing breakfast, great coffe at the lobby bar, very central, a few very good restaurants nearby. Free Wi-Fi in the rooms. If you need a place to stay in Ekaterinburg and you can't do Hyatt, do stay here. P.S. Warm bathroom floors a really nice touch. Reception team so cool and friendly and helpful, it's almost a pity to leave.

“Good impression”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

Overall good impression, I can only recommend it.

Pros:
- business friendly room is really nice and spacious;
- free wi-fi internet in the room is fast enough for Skype communication;
- new hotel, so all the bathroom facilities are brand new, also very clean rooms;
- good full breakfast provided;
- big entertainment centre in 2 minutes walk including grocery store.

Cons:
- the restaurant and bar prices are enormously high, not in line with usual Ekaterinburg prices;
- the usual issue for Park Inn chain but very annoying - the bed is made up of two mattresses instead of one king size... this is not double bed in my opinion, not so comfortable.

“Well located hotel in Y-burg with no frills and great breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

Park Inn was our choice for a stay of 2 nights in Yekaterinburg. We booked this hotel because we had a significant discount, and also because of the good reviews in TA.

We did not try Restaurant Magellan in the hotel (except for breakfast which is served on the same place). The surroundings of Hotel Iset (5-10 mins away from Park Inn) are good for a quick lunch, as there are some restaurants offering 'business lunch' deals.

The good:

- Park Inn's location is definitely one of the points to highlight. The hotel is very well located on Malysheva Street, 15 mins walk away from Iset River. Yekaterinburg is a city that is best enjoyed on foot, and most of the landmarks in your guide are within 20 mins walk from the hotel. A taxi to the train station should take around 10 mins and cost no more than 250 rub.

- Breakfast was a pleasant surprise. There was a good selection of pastries, fruits (both fresh and dry), plus plenty of cheeses, hams and the usual hot dishes. Moreover, all food seemed to be fresh and you could see the restaurant staff constantly renewing/refilling the different plates.

The not-so-good:

- Upon our check-out, we were told that the amount we had to pay was much higher than what we expected, and this happened not once but two times in a 15-minutes timeframe. Upon check-in, the reception staff had confirmed the right amount to be paid and I agreed to pre-charge the amount on my credit card, making clear that final payment would be done on cash. At the moment of check-out, they handed an invoice with a much higher amount but this was immediately corrected when I told them of the inconsistency after which I paid in cash. 15 minutes later, when I went to fetch my bagagge, I was again told that there was an error and I had to pay a balance. I showed them again the print out of the reservation which had the price on it but they insisted that was per day and not per stay, until, after 5 to 10 min of arguing they called someone else who agreed with us.

- The shower in our bathroom lacked some pressure, as well as temperature. Using it at maximum pressure and only hot water, it was just acceptable (and weather was nice during the time we spent on the city; I don't know whether this may become a major issue in the cold winter months). Besides that, both the bathroom and the room were ok; expect no frills, but you get what you pay.

Despite the uncomfortable situation that I went through at the moment of check-out, I still think that Park Inn is a good alternative in Yekaterinburg, especially if you will spend most of your time outside the hotel.
