“Posh hotel, but beware of fake minibar bills”

The hotel is a real gem. The style and design are far ahead of many European luxury hotels. The Black Magnolia restaurant is very expensive but it really can boast with the quality of food. Unlike all other Sochi hotels located in a hustle and bustle of this still Soviet city, the Rodina hotel is in a quiet and very beautiful park with the direct acces to the private beach with very stylish beach lounge. Breakfasts on a top floor with a sea view are also great. Overall in my own hotels rating it occupies on of the top places. However there's one problem that spoiled our impressions - in both bills for 2 rooms we have found some items from minibar which we didn't use. Altogether for 110 US dollars. That's a shame.

“The best in South of Russia”

The getaway to Sochi was my birthday present to my husband. This was the best weekend getaway.
The beach is the most clean, comfortable and peaceful I have ever been to. The service is very friendly.
The hotel has a very spacious territory which streches from the main city road down to the sea. To get to the beach you need to stroll through the garden and use an elevator. The stroll itself is like a SPA treatment. Sochi is famous for its various plants which make the air healing. The sea is crystal clear and it was warm enough to swim in the first decade of June.
This was the time of the Russian cinema contest Kinotavr and the city was full of celebreties, pop stars, actors, film and TV producers. Some of them were frequent guests at the hotel.
The breakfast is worth a separate paragraph. It was the most luxurios and mouth watering morning meal with black and red caviar, champaign and other selection.
The nightlife in Sochi is fun. During our 3 day stay we visited 2 rock concerts. My favourite Russian group Mumuy Troll was performing at Bar London with maximum 100-150 people at the venue and I had a feeling of a private concert.
We would certainly come again.
Would recommend it to everybody though the price is very high for the Russian resort.

“Gorgeous hotel with beautiful beach”

Very elegant hotel on hill over the town of Sochi: steeped in history: the first astronaut (Russian, of course) -Yuri Gagarin- stayed here after his historic flight. Sochi itself is no St Tropez (but more real than such places, at least before the Olympic hordes descend). Russian families enjoying the sun and the fun-fairs and walking the boardwalk. Sochi/Adler has a small, chaotic airport, but you can organize hotel transfers (BMW 7-Series) with the hotel- expensive, but it is a good distance and worth it to be looked after, especially if your Russian is poor. Staff very considerate and keen to showcase their hotel and Russian hospitality. Guests mainly political types and well-heeled Russians. Very beautiful spa in spacious tropical grounds where I had the best massage of my life: not the typical Western 'pit-pat'- more like a workout than a massage as we know it. Worth the trip for the massage alone. Huge indoor pol, with banya and Finnish sauna- excellent spa with full range of Sothy beauty treatments. Private pebble beach with loungers/umbrellas and a beachside cafe- I saw a dolphin diving off the veranda. Sophisticated bar and library room, old-fashioned billiards room and cinema room you can rent out. Lovely outdoor pool and wonderful concrete-chic elevator down to the beach.
Rooms lovely and a good size with terraces. Good food (you can try the Russian menu or more Western affair).
All in all, a discreet and elegant affair and a place you dont want to leave.

“Rodina is a place you always love”

I stayed at this luxurious hotel for 2 days with colleagues from Ireland, USA and Sweden. They are experienced travellers and have seen half of the world, and still they were much amazed by the serenity and a very special atmosphere of this boutique hotel in the heart of a big city. Not a sign of noise or crowd - about 20 hectar garden, running down to the sea and a very cozy beach.
As for the restaurants and cafe - they are very stylish and cozy, not big but very special and friendly. I loved "Black Magnolia", restaurant, they say the design was made by Paco Raban. I loved a very intimate combination of purple and black in its interior, beautiful flowers and wall decorations.

The personnel is very professional and te servce was superb. The girl in the bar Cho-Co-Te told us the story of this hotel nd we knew much about its former owners and guests. We could no resist writing a couple of lines into the guest book with many thanks and desire to come again.
I hope I'll have a chance to come to Roina once again and have more fun and pleasure at this absolutely love place in Sochi!

The hotel staff in Rodina was very nice to me and even though I checked in very late in the evening they were still very eager to welcome me. The management and its personnel is impressive. The room was lovely and the decorations are very trendy. The breakfast that they offer is sumptuous and the facilities are complete with much needed amenities. I will absolutely stay here again!
