This is a place that reflects soviet history :terrible design and terrible service.
We stayed here for 4 nights. The public areas of the hotel looked gloomy and dusty, with surly staff...
The room itself was cramped , totally outdated and ugly but functional...at least, it served a purpose to sleep. There was a cable TV with 1 English channel(CNN).
It was not a comfortable stay because it was far too COLD. The shower and toilet facilities were OK.
My biggest issue was staff rudeness. Once mom left for a convention without a key because i stayed in the room. When she returned to the hotel she was stopped at the entrance. They demanded to show them a key to be allowed to go to her room. Since she had no key, she was led to reception where she had to proove her identity during 15 mins. She was admonished for not having a key with her. She was treated like they're doing a favore letting her stay in this hotel. As she tried to calmly explain that she did not need her key because her daughter's in the room, they only got ruder.
If you must stay in this hotel ,be careful: they tried to overcharge us by 80 $. It took a lot of time to make them admit their mistake. We left ultimatelly disappointed with their service.
