Our large family, six of us, just returned from our trip to Siberia, Russia. We all decided to stay at the Terema hotel near Lake Baikal as it was a convenient location to explore the lake. It prooved our biggest mistake and brought us a lot of misery and aggravation. The rooms were quite comfortable with ensuire shower, however hot water supply was restricted. The restaurant food was OK, although the portion size was very dissappointing. A bottle of French wine was sour and they had no replacement.
On our second night a party of very drunk Russians turned the reception area into a pub at about 1AM. With hotels wooden walls we could hear everything as if they were talking in our rooms! They soon turned roudy and started singing and shouting fired by the alcohol. This continued until 5:30AM. We came out to talk to them several times but to no avail. The hotel's manager joined the paty during the night and refused to listen to her guests complaints. After the sleepless night we were forced to change the hotel. As we were informed by another manager in the morning, the hotel receives large number of Russian corporate guests who get drunk on regular basis. As the hotel receives large amount of its profit from these oranisations it simply ignores the wishes of single travellers.
