Surprised by the quality of the hotel: great room, very comfortable indeed. I have never seen such large beds :) The restaurants are good and the night bar with karaoke is very cozy though a bit loud. Did not check the spa.
The location is superb - just in front of Kremlin. So, good for business and pleasure alike.
On the downside just the steange fact that conditioner was only able to produce warm air and had to sleep with windows open as this was the only way to normalise the temp.
Anyway, recommended ! NB: locals told me that it is considered the best in town ...

The Mirage Hotel has a very modern architecture. The rooms are all very clean, inviting, good variety of international TV Channels. In the first floor there are different bars and restaurants which are also frequented by other people (not only hotel guests). Alltogether this hotel is absolutely worth a stay.

If your in Kazan (where you wouldn't really wanna go if you don't have a good reason to be there) your best bet for a decent hotel is the Mirage. Its nothing special. Its a relative modern building with ok rooms. Internet in the hotel is strange. You have to by vouchers. The 1OOMB voucher (this is the largest amount) is 6OO rubles. If you plan on using youtube or skype for phone calls that you might as well buy 3 on check in.

The spa area looks nice but when you look a bit closely you will find that the ceiling is rotting and its not very clean. The mens changing room with the shower smelt like a public toilet in a busy square. The sauna is big and nice.

Breakfast is one of the worst i have ever had.

Location wise its not smack in the downtown area however if you pland on visiting the "Kazan Kremlin" then your in a good spot for this.
