I have just come back from this hotel where I had 4 nights. The hotel bonus is its situation. You could not be better placed for access to all the visiting attractions. Everything is within 5 to 15minutes walk and tube stop too. However the hotel comfort is limited and the rooms extremely small and rustic, not for a big guy. If I may I would always asked a room on the back as it is fairly noisy in the front in spite of double glazing or be on 6th and 7th floor up, but the rooms were fairly cleaned. As far as the breakfast they were very good and plenty of choice. Tea was good which is always a let down in many hotels. Lack of a reception area and bar as there is not even a fridge in the room for drinks so nothing available for you and layout is very restricted.
If you are out all day and only coming to sleep you are Ok but in winter the comfort zone is more demanding. But I suppose if you get good rates it is good value for money. Service is just about friendly

I stayed in this hotel during the middle of winter, and received a very good discounted rate on a delux room. To get to the room required going through a back alley and a rather intimidating security gate, however I have learnt that in Russia outside appearances can be deceiving. Once inside I found a well equipped and comfortable loft style room with a great view of the street. The room was very large, more like an apartment, and very good value considering the price paid. Looking at the website it seems they often have specials going particularly if you book in advance.

Location is central to all the main tourist sites if you want to walk, or you can catch a bus just up the road which will take you all the way to the other end of Nevsky Prospekt and the Moscow train station. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby which cater well for visitors to the city. The staff at reception were also very friendly and helpful, perhaps slightly amused when I tried to speak in Russian (very badly). Most of the staff appeared to speak understandable English, so don't worry if you have no knowledge of Russian. The hotel can also register your Visa for you (for an additional cost).

Locate the hotel on a map before you try and find it, despite the name, it's is not directly on the Nevsky Prospekt, it's on a street that runs off the Nevsky.

As mentioned above, if you book well in advance and /or take advantage of one of the many specials that always seem to be going you will find this to be a very good value for money hotel, I certainly wish I could have extended my stay here.

Breakfast was barely passable, coffee terrible. Room too small for comfort and price. No drinking water in room; water dispenser on each floor, but the one on our floor was usually empty. Cleaners' equipment blocked the hallway day and night. Air conditioning was ineffective and I could not reach the window lock to open or close it. Reception staff were off-hand and dismissive. Many sets of steps and steep little ramps to reach reception and elevator were difficult to negotiate with suitcases. The location, however, was fabulous.

i was scared when i saw few comments for this hotel but all my doubts were cleared when i stayed here.I checked in on 13th december Room No.608 and still 2 more days to go but i am so impressed by this hotel that i cudnt stop myself writing about it.I agree with everyone that the rooms are small but there is no compromise on the Service.Rooms are very very tidy.Staff is very friendly.Breakfast is superb.Girls at the reception knows english so atleast in the hotel we didnt have any problem and all of them helped us in the all possible manner specially Ms Victoria who guided us to good restaurants and other areas in the city.Metro is just 3 minutes walk from the hotel and the biggest advantage is its location.Right in the city centre.I would love to come here again
