Couldn't afford this in my student days so when I came back with my family, was very keen to see on what I missed out. Rooms were great and I really enjoyed breakfast but the best part was the very knowledgeable concierge who recommended two new things to me (Erarta Museum and Mansarda Restaurant) which my whole family loved! Would definitely recommend to anyone

An excellent experience all round. I have stayed at the Astoria and the Europe and believe that the Astoria has a wonderful sense of history and pedigree. I stayed at the hotel with my boyfriend and family and we all had a great time. The location is superb and you are within walking distance of all the attractions, st issacs, church if the spilt blood, Nevsky prospect etc. The staff are extremely helpful and gave specific advice for shopping and so forth. There is attention to detail at this hotel from the REN bath products to the plush bath robes. My only comment is that it is expensive. The internet in the room is not free and too expensive. However, There is an adequate business centre. Food and drinks are expensive, especially wine, but this is common in Russia. Overall, a very pleasant and memorable stay.

A classic hotel with qualified staff and great service. The location of the Astoria is excellent; the cathedral, Neva river, Hermitage, Russian museum, Nevski Prospect and Gostiny Dvor are all within walking distance. The area also felt safe enough to walk around at night. The room was very pleasant with a great view of St Isaac's cathedral. There is a safe, an umbrella and a good hairdryer in the room. The cupboard had plenty of room and a good number of coat hangers. The bed was very comfortable and everything was immaculately clean. The double windows were soundproof but unfortunately, probably due to the wooden floors, there was quite some noise from neighbours talking and walking. The wifi, though expensive, worked very well and throughout the hotel. As is to be expected in this kind of hotel, the drinks are expensive (10 Euro for a pot of tea), but the quality and service is very good. The breakfast (included in the price) was delicious. The business centre is very useful if you want to print a boarding card or do a quick search on the internet.

A memorable visit to Saint Petersburg made extra special by a marvelous hotel. The staff were freindly and attentive and the rooms traditional and very comforatble. An excellent location minutes from Nevsky Prospect on foot.
