Very comfortable, good location, big room for European hotel.
But don`t buy breakfast here, near is big mall with good food court.
The best hotel in Kaliningrad!

in Kaliningrad one of the best but not international traveller standart... they should think about investing in a real businessman efficient hotel... with an internet connection which is working for example

We had to book the hotel directly from the hotel website in order to recieve the invitation into Kaliningrad. Absolutely brilliant hotel, some parts were a little dated but you can tell even in its day it was a brilliant hotel. Located conveniently bridging the old and new parts of the city the hotel had a fantastic view from all angles. The rooms were comfortable and definitly was worth the expense. The hotel has about 5 (?) floors with a bar/restaurants on the ground floor as well as a little shop with postcards and souvenirs. When we read about Kaliningrad in the tourist books we were expecting a run down place but the city is thriving, the open-air market is located about a 20 minute walk from the hotel and the zoo, public park, cathedral and port/maratime museum are all withing walking distance. We walked to and from the train station on arrival and departure but there are a regular trolly busses to and from the station - we just weren't brave enough to speak the lingo. There is a 24 hour supermarket located directly across the road in the only modern shopping centre we could find while we were here. The food was lovely with menus available in 5 different languages. The front desk staff on check-in could have been more helpful and couldn't speak a word of english but the late staff more than made up for it. Overall a perfectly located hotel and the best out of the rest of them there. It is also worht noting that government buildings, services etc all run on Moscow time so the train station was an hour ahead of the hotel's clocks. V. important if your visa is expiring!

It's the first time in my life that I stayed in a so terrible hotel !
and I traveled a lot in estern country (Russia, Belarussia, Poland, Lituanian, Latvia...), I know what a "soviet Hotel" mean !

bad personal, (they don't know hello/good bye) bad room (renovated of course, but the renovation is terrible ! ) the bed clothes is smaller than the size of the mattress ! unbeliveble ! a lot a dust, a foul smelling fridge !... and so so !

about the bar, dirty carpet and everything is old !

If you want to have a view of the previous "soviet life", go there ! :-)

It exist now in Kaliningrad new modern hotel with occidental style. (I forgot the name, but you'll find on internet and hope that tripadvisor will add soon !) and local tourism guide.

I want to change, but I can't because I need a "registration police" (as a lot of people with Visa) and it was already done (at my arrival) by the hotel ! ...
