“Comfortable hotel for unpretentious tourists”

Stayed at the hotel for the weekend.
A good hotel with a convenient location near the main attractions of the city (cathedral of Königsberg, Immanuel Kant Monument, the Museum of the oceans).
The rooms have everything you need (TV, air conditioner, refrigerator).
In the lobby of the hotel you can book tours of the city and the Curonian Spit. There is also a shop with souvenirs
We went on an excursion to the Curonian Spit, a very interesting.

The upper floors of a good view of the city (see the Cathedral, Kant's Island)

In the case of late check-out you can leave things in the left-luggage office and walk around the city. It is very convenient.

Disadvantages of the hotel:
- Not free internet
- Not free left-luggage office (1$)

“Simple, but the biggest in Kaliningrad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2011

I stayed in Hotel Kaliningrad for a one night. It has quite simple rooms, interiors in general and service also. Probably, it`s a bit overpriced for the service you get here, but as there`re still no many hotels in Kaliningrad, it can be good choice, if you need stay in city center as a couple of good hotels are almost in suburbs.

I marked that I not recommend this hotel, but actually you have no big choice in this one is also suitable to stay.

“Good location, nice rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2010

The hotel is an old Intourist hotel. This means it’s big and ugly from the outside, but centrally located. Our room had a very nice view to the church and the Palace of the Soviets.
The lobby, the corridors and the elevators are a bit outdated, but the room was recently renovated and fine. It had a plasma-tv, fridge, hair dryer, soft towels etc. The bathroom was new, nice and clean. It was a bit hot and we couldn't find a way to turn the radiator of, but that was just a small minus.
The service was fine- better that I usually get in Russian hotels. Everybody in our group spoke Russian, which might have something to do with the good service. They booked us a very good Georgian restaurant and were helpful with the registartion forms.
The wi-fi (50 roubles/hour in the room, free in the hotel’s coffee bar) worked fine. The breakfast was not included and was nothing special, I would recommend going to some of the cafes nearby.
We paid about 70 euros for a room for 3 people, and I’d say the value was good. The only thing we didn’t like was the fact that first there wasn’t any linen for the extra bed and when they brought them, we needed to make the bed ourselves.

“Centrally located hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 February 2010

Rooms quite acceptable, nice restaurant/bar just outside the entrance to the hotel to watch the world go by. Good prices.

“Keep your expectations limited, it is not a five star hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2009

The best feature is the location, central and in front of Plaza, with a 24/7 supermarket. The hotel is ok, but the service is poor, standard rooms are small, very small, air conditioning is an optional service.
If you requested the AC and there is no remote control in the room, it is impossible to convince the staff to give you a remote control taken from another room: YOU HAVE TO MOVE TO ANOTHER ROOM WITH REMOTE CONTROL FOR AC.
When you will try to buy some WIFI service they will tell you it does'nt work, actually it works, but they don't like to sell it.
The secret tip to get a better service? Approach the staff in German instead of English. They don't speak English, they don'speak German, but they prefer to listen to a German noise.
