The perfect place for Korean , korean restaurant , korean airways office , they should consider to renew a bit the place I have been there 5 years ago and nothing changed except the TV but they still dont have international programs beside BBC world, bed are small and old , bathroom looks old too. Not to many option in this city but they should consider to renew the place. Good I stayed only 2 nights. dont expect much in this place.

“Try to avoid”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2010

This is one of most uncomfortable hotel stays I have had in Russia. In fact, this is a motel, not a hotel.

Staff
There was some mess with my reservation when I arrived - all I got from the manager (it was a manager, not a receptionist) was "I think it's your mistake" - and not even a formal word of excuse. This is a good example of their attitude there - they just do not care. Every time you talk to them you feel complete ignorance. Not even a sign of hospitality, even formal.

Rooms
When I entered the room and checked bedsheets there was a large yellow stain on it. I had to ask them to change it.
Generally rooms are not dirty, but rather old: there was rust on doorposts in bathroom, the lighting controls console looks like it was in use since 70-es and partly inoperational, one of the lamps was inop too.
Windows do not block noise (there is a constant background noise from cars in the street) and the door does not block noise from the corridor, so if you are going to sleep during daytime (which is quite possible considering that Vladivostok is 7 to 10 timezones from Europe) make sure you've got earplugs with you.
Window curtains do not block light.
Airconditioning is what they call "central" - which means you cannot ajust it, it is the same temperature in all rooms. And it's very noisy.
There is only one TV channel in English, and it's BBC. A variety of Korean channels though.
No pillow menu and other "luxuries".
Bathroom looks old too and it's extremely uncomfortable. The light is so poor that I can't imagine how a girl can make herself up there - I could barely shave. No "luxuries" like a magnifying mirror etc.
Attention: no safes in rooms. They offer you a safe on the front desk, but it's about 2 by 10 inches large: you can put a vallet there, but if you have a laptop... they do not care. I would not risk leaving it in the room considering the overall attitude of the staff.

Restaurant
There is one restaurant and it's Korean cuisine only (only!). I ate there once, but I can hardly imagine eating there daily unless you're a Korean. There's also a cafe and a bar; I haven't checked the latter. The cafe serves breakfasts (included): it's eadible but nothing more than this.

I have never been to Korea, but Korean hospitality according to this Korean hotel is dirt and negligence. I do not know if there is a better hotel option in the city, but I recommend to look for before booking with Hyundai.

“the only business stay option in the city!”

Stay is expensive, but you have no choice in this city. I always stay in this hotel while in Vladivostok. Clean and nice rooms. They have a very good Korean restaurant in the down floor.

“Best Vladivostok option”

Stayed at the Hotel Hyundai for 3 days on our cross Russia trip by Plane. The hotel itself is part of a large business centre and I think the majority of the floors are offices. Anyhow, we arrived at around 10am in the morning after a long overnight flight from Moscow. The city is almost an hour from the airport that serves 3 cities, so it does take a while to get from the airport to the centre. We hooked up with a local man from the same plane and took a taxi and ended up paying about 1500 Rub for all 3 pax. There is supposedly a bus but we did not investigate further. Anyhow, when we arrived at 10 am we were promptly given our room and this was great since we were rather tired after the 8 hour flight. The room itself was ok, very "American style" and rather large for Russia. We had a great view over the bay, but they had given us twin bed instead of a king, but we decided not to try to change. The bathroom was large and comfortable. During our stay it was about 25-30 degrees outside and we were a little disappointed with the air-conditioning in our room, it worked to some extent, but it was not adjustable. In the hotels defence, we did not complain about it. The rooms have wifi and you have to buy scratch cards in the reception. The charge based on data usage and I think 200MB was about 400RUB. I bought a 200 Mb card and it worked our entire 3 day stay, and we were online quite a lot. Connection was very quick. Breakfast was very nice, and they even have an omelette stand where they will make you an omelette to order 

The hotel also had a very nice large swimming pool we used every day. I cost 200 Rub per person. Well worth it

Vladivostok is by far not the centre of the universe, and finding a decent place to eat was not always easy. On the first day we were recommended the restaurant Nostalgia. This was obviously the tourist trap of the town, because when we went there, it was a small dining room behind a café in a side street, and the room was full of Asian tourist. Needless to say we skipped going there and went to the German style beer house almost across the road. This place was ok.

During our stay we also went to Korea House and this was very nice if you like Korean food. Staff were very friendly and service oriented.

We had lunch at the Mauro Giavanni on the pedestrian street Fokino, and it was so so, but maybe we ordered the wrong pizza. We did go to the Pizza M bar ant this was very good. There are several outlets in the same building but if you go up towards the drama theatre and behind the building to the right you will find it.

We tried Magic burger on svetlanskaya and this is obviously one of the most popular fast food joints in town. Sorry to say the burgers were horrible, but the restaurant was packed. Needless to say there is no Mc D or Burger King in town so I guess most people don’t know what a burger should taste like, and Moscow is 8 Hours away.

Our absolutely favourite restaurant was by far the restaurant Syndicate on Ul Komsomolskaya 11. Its American western style with steaks, burgers etc. Very nice service, but I think somewhat expensive for local standards, but it was packed so they must be doing something right.

For those who crave ice cream there is also a Baskin Robins ice cream parlour in town at the end of Svetlanskaya UL.

In Summary, Vladivostok is a nice city, and the people are by far some of the friendliest Russians I have met.

“Good experience”

I stayed at this hotel on recommendation of our agent and it was better than expected as I heard some negative things about it after it was already booked and payed for.
However I can say that is was very satisfactory and we had a comfortable stay if not that the hotel itself was a little boring.

We did however get a very good deal on the price and I can therefore recommend the hotel, it was very suitable for as a stop over before going on the trans siberian railway.
