This hotel is oriented for business people and traveling along Russian Golden Ring tourist. It is unique hotel in the town because there is the best restaurant of this town is situated at this hotel. When you try to invite your business partners or collegues for a dinner - they would always ask about visiting hotel's own restaurant. It is supperb!
I wish you try the meal at this reastourante! If you travel to Yaroslavl -stay here and you will be happy 100%!

“North American quality in Russian heartland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

The hotel is located somewhat centrally - half-way between railway terminal and downtown (15 min walk). To get there from the terminal you can take trolley number 1 to the Pl. Truda (Labour Sq.)

This is the only four star hotel in town. Keep in mind that the stars are given by the government tourist agency, so ratings tend to be pretty consistent. The best complimentary breakfast we had in Russia with all the standard Russian continental fare but greater variety.

It is kind of funny that the name does not mean anything, especially the way they arrange it in their logo: Rin-G Premier. I guess it is a remote reference to the Golden Ring of Russia, of which Yaroslavl is the crown jewel. Also interesting is that the hotel is owned by a tobacco company.

Room 301 was fairly large by North American standards (huge by European). The furniture was very plain with no decorations whatsoever, but very functional with a king size bed.

Best views are on the Ul Svobody (Freedom street), overlooking an old soviet garrison turned shopping mall and a tram yard turned restored monastery (our view). On the east side is a park and on the west McDonalds, which is very popular with local youth and can get very rowdy at night. Courtyard views overlook a parking lot and dilapidated residential blocks.

Towels were really thin, small and very few (certainly not worth stealing). They boast heated floors in the bathroom, but we never figured out how to work the control.
Powerful thermostat-controlled AC, but the output unit was under the window and hence behind the curtain (hmm?). The curtains were heavy enough to block out the light, especially considering outdoor lighting setup directly above the window. But curtains were virtually impossible to manoeuvre.

Technically the room was Smoking (they do not appear to have any non-smoking ones), but there was no smell.

WiFi is free but very weak - I could not catch it in the room room, but only in the elevator lobby.

Room service was inconsistent: one day they would re-arrange and fully replace our toiletries and provide more water, the next they would barely make the bed.

There is construction going on on Ul. Popedy (Victory St), past Mcdonalds, so it can get very noisy, even at night.

“Comfortable Place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2010

Yaroslavl is a good 5 hr drive north of Moscow and is one of the ring of gold cities and was once the capital of old Russia. Setting for "War and Peace" and located on the Volga river it has some beautiful buildings and great restaurants at cheap prices - raindeer is very good.

I stayed here for 3 nights in Oct 2008.
The hotel is modern with good internet access and aircon.

Breakfast was ok by Russian standards, I would recommend bringing your own water if you can as the tap water tastes of chemicals and buying it in the hotel is not cheap.

There is a McDonalds next door for those who like a chain burger.

“The only possible choice in Yaroslavl”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2010

The hotel is generally okay, you will hardly regret staying there. There are some drawbacks (very noisy central ventilation in rooms is one of them), but it's not the point, really, because it is the one and only European-class hotel in this city. So do not spend your time reading this reviews - there's no choice, unless you can choose whether you are going to Yaroslavl or not. The city is beautiful by the way. And yes, the food in the Sobinov restaurant is good, try soups. However roomservice can be very slow.
