Stayed here for a week while in Moscow on business. It was the only hotel near our office available at short notice.
It is a little intimidating on arrival, as the entrance to the hotel looks like it is set up to repel a police raid.
Check in took a while, the level of English spoken by the reception staff was not great, and it was slightly alarming that they had to hold on to our passports overnight.
The room was large, with a separate lounge containing a sofa, tv, fridge and drinking water dispenser. The bathroom by contrast was a pokey affair with little room for anything but a sink and shower. The toilet was in a similar small room. (See photos).
Although the room was large it was in desperate need of refurbishing and everything appeared to be about 20 years old.
The TV didn't have any English speaking channels either.
The air conditioning unit only produced hot air, so it was lucky the weather was seasonable cool.
You recieve tokens for breakfast, which is a buffet affair typical of Russian hotels.
There is also a bar in the basement which serves food (I did not try, but my colleagues were not impressed) and good beer.
There is also a small shop in the lobby which sells a range of food/drink and convience items.
We cut short out stay once the nearby Hotel Oksana became available, which was much nicer.
By Moscow standards the cost of this hotel is relatively affordable, although you can see why. I'm sure there are worse alternatives in Moscow however.
