“Nice for Moscow”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

I choose this hotel in Moscow after a bad experience in another hotel. And what a difference. Although not so well located the hotel is nice and clean and you have all the comfort you need after a hard day working.

The rooms are spacious to the norms in Moscow and very clean; The staff speaks english and you have english channels on your TV. Breakfast is nice with lots of choice.

Only downturn is that the Wifi access is very slow and the rooms are not that good isolated, you can hear your neighbours quite well.

But overall happy with this stay and I will be back.

Although a little far from Moscow center it's no difficult to get there by metro. They have large and comfortable rooms with a vintage style. Receptionist are kind and helpfull. God breakfast an a typicall russian restaurant. Best value.

“Excellent hotel I'd definately return to”

We stayed here at the start and finish of our Russia trip. The hotel is located on the Metro far enough out of town to offer good value but not too far that the travelling time makes it a chore. Initially quite hard to find but if you find the right exit from the metro and walk via the residential estate walkway near the bread seller you will find it a very relaxing and short walk. The staff spoke good English and were more than happy to help. In mid summer the room could be a little too hot but in June it was no problems at all.

The room was very clean, beds comfortable and also quiet as it is a residential area. It seemed to be run to the same or higher standard that you would normally expect from the upmarket chains. Breakfast was good by Russian standards and plenty of staff are on hand to assist. It also had a good bathroom and a couple of English news channels on the television.

We would definately recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Moscow who wanted to save their money for the rest of what can be an expensive city but still stay in quality accomodation.

“I liked that hotel. Good value for money & comfortable.”

I actually quite like that hotel. They offered me visa support (latter needed for my visa application) and really good price (for Moscow of course). Hotel is outside of city centre, but for me it was quite easy to find it. I liked hotel location, on a quiet street with a lot of trees around.
Check-in was hassle-free, quick and with no any issues or problems. They do have safety deposit box at reception.
My room was spacious enough, fresh and clean. Beds were comfortable and rest of furniture new and kept in good condition.
I actually didn't use many of hotel's additional facilities; mainly I used it to sleep. I was amazed with Moscow and hospitality again and Maxima Zarya was not an exception there. If you're looking for value for money and you don't mind to stay outside of centre - this is perfect option.

“Not impressed.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

Far away from the center and you really need good instructions how to find the metro, especially when it is dark already. At the reception they had no map to show you. Extremely slow checkin with a lot of misunderstandings by 2 employees in education. If you payed everything already you don't expect to pay extra especially when they cannot explain in English why you need to pay extra. I payed some extra because i was tired and wanted to my room. By the checkout the same situation and again people in education. They should realize that you never get a second change to get a first impression. Especially at the reception. I simply don't go there anymore. The rest of my stay was ok.
