The Hilton Moscow is a beautiful and historic hotel, a restored "Seven Sisters" skyscraper done in the Stalinist style. It is clear that Hilton spent a lot of money to bring the building into the 21st century, and the lobby is particularly impressive. The rooms are all modern and comfortable, although small (like just about every hotel in Moscow, for that matter). Of special note for tourists is the fact that service is outstanding; Moscow has a reputation for being a rude city, and at times in my experience, the city has lived up to that reputation. However, I came away very impressed with the staff at Hilton, which I found to be friendly, accommodating, and eager to please. They certainly made what had previously been a difficult couple days in Russia a lot easier. The deduction is solely for the location. It's a bit of a drive or a trip on the Metro to get to the Red Square area, and the area surrounding the hotel is not the most beautiful part of Moscow. That one minor gripe aside, this was an excellent hotel, especially for the price.
