“Breakfast is great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

The normal level of 4-star hotel. Convenient for those looking for accommodation closer to the center. But at the same time in a quiet place. Good rooms, service at the hotel. Not enough thought to the question of leisure time. when booking rooms at the time of the shares at a price - can a hotel for business travelers, where you can relax after a normal working day can be viewed

“Not a family hotel”

My friend and I stayed at the Hotel Cosmos last year. Although the rooms were a good size, breakfast was really poor (the only things I recognised were egg and orange juice!) in that most of the food stuffs were white coloured and made entirely from fat.

The hotel does have a strange strip joint in the basement which explains the number of attractive women wandering around the hotel lobby trying to talk to you.

“massive hotel, ok rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

The Cosmos is your typical mammoth sized dated Soviet hotel! I was there in 1991 when it was still the USSR and honestly..........not a lot has changed. The lobby is still infested with prostitutes like it was in the early 90s, the service is still sub-par with an indifferent frown and the rooms are well....Soviet like still. I decided to splurge and reserved a deluxe room on one of the top floors. Considering what I got, nearly two rooms, a view overlooking Prospect Mira and the famous Farmer and Worker Statue, the price could not be better. Anywhere else in Moscow with half the view I had would've easily been over $400. The breakfast buffets are divine, but get there EARLY or you'll be swampped by groups. The lobby provides free wi-fi access. However, at times it can be hard to find a place to sit because it feels as if the entire hotel is in the lobby trying to get wifi. Sometimes you can't even get on the system due to the high volume of traffic. I know three stars is probably generous for Cosmos, but the cost of the room for all I got was a real steal. One thing I was rather surprised about was when I lost my mobile phone in the lobby someone was kind enough to turn it in to the front desk. Also, it is close to the Moscow Metro which can pretty much get you anywhere you want in all of Moscow.

Room Tip: get a room on the corner of the hotel facing Prospect Mira for the best views!!

“Huge hotel, near Metro”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

This is a huge hotel filled with groups of tourists on tour buses. The rooms are dark and old fashioned, but clean and reasonably comfortable. We stayed at this hotel as it was the only hotel available during our visit. It is not somewhere I would stay on future visits to Moscow. On the positive side it is very convenient for the Metro and getting into the city centre is reasonably easy on the underground. The reception staff were helpful and the free wifi in the lobby was slow but useful.

“I'm disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

The hotel is located across from a metro station and tourist sight. There were no non-smoking rooms avaliable even upon prior request when booking was made. The room has uncomfortable smell of smoke. There were never anyone in the reception to answer telephone calls for services or enquiries from the guest room. Lunch and dinner is poor. This hotel was popular in the USSR, but now he has lost its relevance.
