“Disgusting, keep away as soon as possible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2010

Never ever try, don't even step by around the neighbourhood. I had to stay quite long, during the enterance they didn't ask for my credit card for the warranty and at the 6th day the key was not opening the door. I asked for a new key, 2 rude ladies at the reception said "you owe use some thousands rubles, you have to pay it cash now, unless we will not give you new key, we will keep your stuff as warranty in the room", I was in a shock, I am travelling almost 3 weeks per month, I have never experienced something like that. In the morning of 2nd day there was no water and they didn't bother to inform, when I called reception they told me no water due to the maintenance, they offered me to change the room. Worst experience of my life, KEEP AWAY!!!!

“Why not”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2010

Quiet (ask for a non street view), clean and simple.
Not the most Moscow trendy hotel but a good value for money.
Was a Sofitel a long time ago.
Service is slow and not very efficient but there is not reason not to enjoy your stay at Iris Congress.

“Nice, but far away from Metro station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2010

Nice hotel, quiet rooms, nice ambiente, competent stuff.
Even an Early bird breakfast at 05.00 AM with ham and eggs, fruits and other things was possible.
An ordered taxi at the Buisiness Center was just in time and in pretty good condition.
But you have to be aware : the next Metro station is 5.1 km as the bird flies away !!!
Price was worth it !

“Very good value; a little far from down town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2010

Few things you might want to know:
- The hotel is nice, rooms are good and clean and breakfast was good as well
- Helpful staff, fluent in English
- May take about an hour or more to get to town; it's 10-45 minutes on a bus (no. 191 or 194) or a taxi to the Petrovsko-Razumovskaya Metro station (line 9), and than another 20-30 minutes ride. I did it without knowing Russian but it takes some street wise.
- The hotel is located uptown; coming from Domodedovo airport takes 2-3 hours in taxi, depends on traffic...

Overall: good value, but if your business is in down town one might consider paying more and having a better location

“Horrible and unpleaseant service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

Horrible service. Treated like they were doing us a favor by staying there. Water was brown. Entered room without knocking or permission on several occations. Waiting staff, reception and managment never said "hello" or "thank you" after breakfast, lunch or dinner. We did not feel like welcomed guests. Room service food was delivered cold consistanly. Had to change rooms because water running freely from taps. Water came pouring from celing in dinning room. They offered no apology and just said go back to our room and they will bring food to us. Never once did they apologize or say thank you. This hotel only wants your money and offeres HORRIBLE SERVICE. Shame on managment.

Dear Mr. Wood!

Thank you for your detailed opinion about your stay at the hotel.
We were very sorry to know that you have been disappointed with the customer services.
We investigated all the situations described in detail and would like to comment the following:

1) We apologies for the situation with water leaking in dining area. Unfortunately, due to anomalous weather conditions during these summer days in Moscow (+40 C/ +105 F) our water conditioning system was broken down and provoked massive water leaking in dining area. Please be sure that all the staff did their best to remove the issue quickly. We are really sorry that we had to interrupt your diner and serve it into the room afterwards.

2) We apologies for the mistakes made by our staff - chambermaids, waiters, receptionists. We thank you for the information provided and would like to inform you that now we going to start new training program for the hotel staff, including proper behavior in unexpected non-ordinary cases.

3) Now we are checking for the possibility to clean pipe system of the hotel in order to improve tap water conditions.

Finally we would like to apologize for the inconvenience you were caused during your stay and to thank you for your patience in these matters. Unfortunately we don’t have your contacts to discuss the situation that happened. Please contact us to discuss this and we will do our best to find the way to bring you our apologies.

We hope that we will have a chance to welcome you again at our hotel and to provide you with the better service.

Sincerely yours,
General Manager
