“The beautiful hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

The hotel is located in a beautiful building. The interiors are doing an amazing impression. The area also extremely interesting. Very close from here to the well-known landmarks such as St. Basil's Cathedral or the Bolshoi Theatre.

Excellent service. All requests meet very soon. The hotel has an excellent restaurant, which serves very good food. It is worth noting that while living in this hotel you can get 10% discount on meals at Romanov Restaurant.

The only drawback is that it takes a long journey from the airport. By taxi I drove almost 2 hours!

The location o f the hotel is great in a very nice and classy area at a walking distance from Bolchoi and Red square. The room are decorated with horrible and old furniture. The materass was so old that half of the bed was not really able to be used and wifi was available with a inconsistent fee when wifi is available everywhere now. I'm sure I will go back in this area but not anymore in this hotel.

“Nothing fancy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

I have stayed in this hotel in the end of November 2011 for business purposes. The hotel room has an old architectural style, and with the room's very high ceiling, huge windows and old furniture you feel like you have been transported 30 years ago to the communist era. Although everything seems a little old in the room, it is comfortable. The weather was around -5 Celcius in the evenings but I never felt any coldness or a breeze in the room. The isolation both in terms of weather and sound is perfect. Also bear in mind that there is an extra air condition in the room which I didn't even use in addition to the central heating. Breakfast is okay, at the level of a three star maybe. The location of the hotel is great, very close to Kremlin and the Red Square. Nevertheless, the bar in the hotel is almost always empty, the lobby and its surroundings have always few people. So if you like crowded places and rush, this place is not for you. The internet is NOT free and I must admit it is quiet expensive. All in all, this hotel offers you nothing special but a good nights sleep.

“Centrally Located”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

What I would call typical of old soviet style dark & almost forboding, brilliant for our arrival in Moscow, kicked off our holiday with a great feel. Rooms v nice ( tall ceilings) breakfast very good, our evening meal was inclusic & was rather an eclectic mix of foods, I got the feeling the chef was trying tp please us with what he thought we would like to eat, some random combinations but all edible! nicely located for ballet & red square/kremlin etc. connected to another hotel which had facilities available to use i believe, no free wifi here.
