“reasonably priced, but don't expect much!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

Hotel Budapest in Moscow has a great location, within short walk to Red Square, Bolshoy Theater and also close to metro. It is great... hotel by itself with rustic / old fashion design. However it has been well preserved.
Rooms are fine size, but bed is not the best in the world! You also need to be aware that windows are not sound-proof and you will hear plenty of street noise. If you are sensitive and would like to have sweet dreams, than better to take upper floors and yard rooms.
Breakfast is fine, but could be better and especially coffe!
If you need rather reasonably priced hotel within heart of the Moscow, this would be the right place! But don’t expect too much as only classy & rustic hotel.

Room Tip: hotel has a great location within very cetre of Moscow and reasonably priced compare to what you can...

“Good location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

The hotel offers the best price for location. It reminds old soviet style hotels, a bit dark, but comfortable enough. Its is exactly what one would expect from a 3 - star hotel. As for services, it offers good breakfast and extremely expensive Internet connection.

“Old soviet style hotel, a little dark and depressing.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

I have stayed here twice as it offers the best price for location. Moscow is stupidly expensive for hotels. As you would expect from an old soviet style hotel everything is a little faded and dark.

The rooms are a good size but during my second trip found sleeping difficult because of the noise of people going down the corridor. Breakfast was average but the staff were all very attentive.

“Great location, very good room but noise from gentlemen's club next door!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

This is a very nice hotel with a very good, clean and comfortable room Not great seating in lobby, but nice lobby/bar in next room that is comfortable and the breakfast room is lovely with music playing - very relaxing. The location of the Budapest is very good - easy walking to Red Square and the Kremlin as well as the metro, so you can get anywhere. Friendly reception. Definitely recommended (but maybe see if they can get the club next door to stop the music before 4:00 a.m.)

“Hotel Budapest is not a bad choice in Moscow”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

My wife and I spent four nights in the Hotel Budapest during the month of September. The hotel location is a comfortable 15 minute walk from Red Square and is quite centrally located. The hotel’s interior is a little threadbare, but clean and comfortable. Wifi was quite expensive at the rate of 700 Rubles ($28) for 24 hours, which is an irritation, but is likely par for the course in Moscow. My wife originally booked the Hotel Budapest with the objective of avoiding a hotel with loads of American tourists. This hotel’s clientele all seemed to be either Russian or from other European countries, with few North American guests. All of the service staff spoke English and were very friendly. The hotel’s concierge was helpful in arranging for a private taxi pick-up at the airport, which is very important given the one to two hour commute from the airport to downtown.
