“Good service and good location but an ageing hotel.”

Without doubt the best service I have experience in a hotel in Moscow, courteous and efficient.
The location is great but the hotel (or at least the two rooms I tried) were in need of refurbishment, nothing dramatic though.
When I completed the Marriott survey, I indicated I might not return to this hotel but I might if I can get a recently refurbished room with a separate shower, simply because the service is actually very good.

“Quiet, swift quality service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012 via mobile

Stayed four nights during coldest part of year. Warm cozy hotel with great staff, rooms and good food. No need to trot around the frozen tundra unless you want to. Traffic is often stopped. Prices are high here.

“Just fine, if someone else is picking up the bill”

A nice Marriott but by no means an exceptional property, shockingly expensive along with most everything in Moscow. Great location near the Kremlin makes it a good base for sightseeing, also reasonably close to two different metro lines. Rooms are large and comfortable if not particularly luxurious. Executive lounge is well stocked for breakfast, happy hour, and evening snacks/drinks. Perfect place to stay for business or using points.

Nice hotel near the Red Square Kremlin etc. Loads of security all over the place so that makes you feel safe.

Hotel lobby attracts all kinds of visitors which makes people watching interesting

Hotel has a classy 1980s feel to it

“Friendly helpful staff but disappointing environment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

This is a pretty average Marriott, by Marriott standards.

Great location not far from Red Square and many (expensive) shops and restaurants. The staff are friendly, speak great English and as helpful as can be, but the hotel itself is somewhat charmless and since it's in a very touristy area then eating out can get pricey!

Best tip is to go out of the hotel, turn left and walk a few hundred yards to DoDo restaurant (in a side courtyard) which has good food in a modern, comfortable setting with reasonable prices. If you're feeling brave (and rich) turn right and go to 'Bolshoi'. Prepare yourself for some pricey wine....
