“Great location ...... sort of. Service was terrible”
First of all, upon check in we were kept waiting at the desk while one receptionist was doing another receptionists hair in the back office and they could see us waiting. The hotel was located above the metro which was great. When we went out for the very first time after checking in, we asked for directions on how to get to Red Square and we were told just to take the metro and follow the grey metro metro line, fine, off we went to get the train, we get to the platform and realise we don't know which side to catch the train on, so up we went back to the hotel to ask for clearer directions and a map. Shouldn't we have been given a map in the first instance? If you see the train lines you will know what I mean. At the train station no one speaks any English at all so you mainly rely upon maps and what your hotel can explain to you. On another night we asked where we could eat and have some drinks and we were given the great explanation of "over the road"!?!
The rooms are huge and clean, room serviced everyday. The only down side I would have is that the TV is way too small for such a huge room, and the blanket is way too small for the bed.
Overall, this hotel is in a great location if you sort yourself out with the train lines, but don't expect great service from the front desk hotel staff, they just seem not that interested in their job. We got better smiles from the two CSI looking guys constantly situated in the hotel lobby who would attract the attention of the staff if we so dared to ask a question! Don't bother staying here for the service you get.
Room Tip: Make sure you are familiar with the train lines before booking this hotel, it is very hard to get so...
