This hotel is very close to the Timisoara Cathedral, the city centre and its promenade. It also has a very good restaurant. The rooms are big, clean and classy. I have not tested the conference facilities, but I understand they have some.
On the downside (of course I have to warn you): take your own shampoo with you, they only provide shower gel. But since the hotel is so very near the city centre, you may just want to go out and buy your own anyway. One more thing they could improve: there is no vertical miror in the room. There is a big one in the bathroom, but you cannot see your legs there, and the one in the room does not give you the full picture either.

Easy to find and had free parking under the hotel. Check in was fine and when asked, the clerk unhesitatingly recommended a restaurant in town (Casa cu Flori) that was amazing. The room was nicely designed--lots of white--and very comfortable. Wi-fi was free and worked well in the room. Bathroom was large and clean. An interesting glass elevator for those on higher floors. The breakfast the next morning was well done--buffet style, good coffee, plenty to eat and good variety. It is a very short walk into the old part of town and the clerk provided a map and good directions. Probably five minutes to a large church and the shopping street, maybe 10 minutes to Casa cu Flori. Not expensive either. My only place to stay in the wonderful city of Timisoara.

I stayed at this hotel for three days on business. Centrally located, its a short walk to the center of town and other sights.

My bedroom was very spacious and had a large private balcony that one could sit out in and look out onto the street and the river/park below. The bed was good quality, was firm and provided excellent support, and a good nights rest. One couldn't say that the room was super-modern, but it was comfortable, had everything one might need and was scrupulously clean.

The room rate worked out at EU65.00 per night and included breakfast and a fast WiFi Internet connection; great value. Reception staff were friendly and professional.

I had a very short stay at the Savoy but was very satisfied in that time. The hotel is deceptively big as there is a large mainly glass extension at the back. The room was fine with everything necessary for the business traveller and the staff I met friendly and English speaking. The price quoted was the price paid and included breakfast, taxes and internet in the room. Although the breakfast selection was not the biggest I have seen there was a hot and cold selection. It is probably the first hotel in I have been to in Eastern Europe offering bacon, which was not burnt at all.
The REAL plus as far as I was concerned though was the location. It is literally across the road from the bridge over the canal to the old town centre some 200-300 metres away with many bars and eateries. There is an open air bar under the bridge on the far bank selling local Therapia beer for Lei 8. Have too many and you will need a different type of therapy in the morning. Despite being on a main road my room which was at the rear of the hotel was very peaceful
