I stayed in this hotel this summer for a short visit. I read the reviews before this ... well, tastes are not disputed, right? :-) I actually stayed in the same room as in the picture - under the roof - hard to say "a room", I can only compare that place with a cell in a medieval castle - the window was so high, the light so little, the space so crowded .....
The look of the hotel .... it's kitsch, it want to look as baroque style, but the materials it is covered (plastic black painted covers for elevator doors!! wanna be antiques hanging from the ceiling!!) makes it a joke ... .
...the breakfast was average, crammed in a tinny "restaurant"...
well, it was very few for a 100 EUR/room/night and we considered that ...enough it's enough...but we had to experience also the "quality of personnel service":-))....
We booked a standard room from a site - when we arrived there and observed the place what should be a standard room but looked like a mouse trap, we talked with the manager to change it for a decent one, who replied very impolitely " he is not responsible for all the web agents the hotel has and for their representations"....
We decided to go elsewhere, and asked for the money for the nights not spend there....but the hotel's manager argued the Best Western chain has "booking rules (??!??!)" which demands that one a visitor spend one night in the hotel, he might pay all the night booked, regardless what was in fact period spent in the hotel!!!?!?!?!
... after a long argument and only after we said we'll make a complaint to the Consumer’s Office, he agreed to make a "favor" to us, to give back our money for the nights not spent there...not in cash, but as a return to our card (as a fact, in the booking order we requested to pay in cash at the hotel premises...as we arrived there we discovered they draw our money 2 weeks in advance!!!)
.... regardless to say that not even today, 3 months after that "pleasant stay" we haven't received back our money....
As a conclusion, if you trip on the other's money (so you don't care about loosing them...) and you don't also care where you're staying (there are a lot of really pretty hotels in town...), go there ....as for me, if all the other hotels in town are full ....
... better stay outside in the rain .... :-)))
