We stayed at this hotel when we first arrived in Romania, and then 12 days later ofter our self driving trip around the country.
I would not stay again for a number of reasons. There were a number of good aspects but the problems far outweighed them. First the good points. The hotel was close to the airport and had a shuttle bus. The staff were also willing to store two suitcases until we returned. The hotel also had free internet. However the room was only average- the bed had a very 'saggy' mattress and we had sore backs next morning. The air conditioner did not work well and the room was very hot. Both rooms we booked had only one towel and it took a long while for the second one to be delivered when we complained. However, the main problem was with the restaurant and as there are no other restaurants nearby, it is necessary to eat at the hotel restaurant if a long taxi ride is to be avoided. The food at the restaurant was OK although nothing special. The meals were cold by the time they arrived. We asked if it was possible to get a glass of wine each with dinner. The waiter said 'yes', asked 'if we wanted red or white' and then proceeded to pour two glasses of an ordinary wine. Another hour and a half passed and no more wine was offered. When we asked for the bill, the cost of the wine was more than triple any other bottle (not glass) of wine we had ordered in Romania. When we questioned this, the waiter said that it was necessary to give us a bottle as single glasses were not available. He was not able to produce the remainder of the bottle of wine In hindsight, we should have asked for the menu before ordering the wine but in other places it has not been a problem and I objected to being put into a position where we either risk an unpleasant situation, or acquiesce. I may have been wrong, but my impression was that some sort of malfeasance was involved either on his own behalf or on behalf of the hotel. For a below average meal, prices were similar to a good restaurant in Australia. This is very unusual for Romania, and we had marvelled about how inexpensive prices were every where else. I tried to talk to the receptionist the next morning about our experience but 'she did not want to know' and brushed off our concerns.
I think that you will see from my other hotel reviews that I do not complain often and this was the only time I have had such a problem.
