The best place to stay at La Reunion ! Why ? First as a general comment do not forget that you are on an island and set your exceptions at the right level. La Reunion is not Maldives with all those 5/6 stars island hotels. We stayed here 8 nights that were wonderful. The location is really really quiet compared to similar hotels in the area, the gardens are wonderful and peaceful. The beach is the best one with the lagoon facing West for nice sunset. Room are perfect and modern. Staff is very polite and helpful :-) A great place for couple and honeymoon ! Special thanks for personal attentions during all our stay (I will not say those as it has to stay a surprise if you stay here :-) ). The hotel was full but we felt like alone as really quiet and never crowded. Food is good maybe a little bit expensive.

I have been there for two weeks in September 2011, I found an amazing place, people and structure. This hotel is on the most beutiful beach of reunion, it has 3 different restaurants with really nice food and the biggest swimming pool in reunion. From there you can get all the places easily by car or ask to hotel for some organized trips. People are really kind, especially I have to thanks Yann, the bar manager for his help, professionally he helped us to make our holidays wonderful. Even all the bar stuff is amazing as the service as well.

I stayed at the hotel for 3 days with hubby and baby in May 2011. It is located in a quiet place. The room was clean and has a little terrace where we could sit and chill out.

I cannot comment much on the food as we only had breakfast there and we were out everyday, save for one night I had a craving for desserts and we went to hotel's restaurant.
So far, there's a nice choice at the breakfast buffet.Unfortunately for me, I was in the first semester of pregnancy so I could not enjoy the food that much.

The staff is not so friendly.

Check-out is around 12-12.30 and make sure you ask for late check-out when doing your reservations, especially if your flight is late in the afternoon.We had to leave the room in a hurry and it is not so pleasant when you have a baby. Also we could not keep the room even if we offered to pay extra as the hotel was full at that period.

It's supposed to be the only 5-star hotel in Reunion but we could feel that there was something missing.There was no such special touch that would make you say "Wow!I'll be back".

We spent only 4 nights there but it was like a dream. The staff is extremely kind and will make everything to make your stay as good as possible. The hotel is on a wonderful place, surrounded by a green garden, very calm and peaceful. the swimming pool is the most beautiful I have ever seen, very big, with natural colors and big stones, you almost feel like you're swimming in a lake. the beach is just a few steps from the swimming pool and it is very beautiful as well, with lot's of different fishes to see. The hotel provides masks, snorkels and flippers free of charge. the fact that the hotel is directly located on the beach (lagon) is amazing, you can eat and have a direct view on the sea, or have a cocktail in the evening and watch the sun disappear into the sea! and if you are in the right period (we were there on September) you will also see whales from the beach!!
apart from that we found the rooms really beautiful too, the food was great, and, once again, the staff was adorable.
I really do not understand the bad reviews that I had read before coming, for example we immediatly received a voucher for the internet, and for breakfast we always had fresh orange juice prepared in front of us, as well as eggs and crepes. I did not look on every corner of the room to see if I cound find a hair because I really don't care. I also cannot believe to still see complaints about cockroaches...what are you looking for when you travel?! And why are you coming to the Reunion? This is part of life and no one, even the best hotels, can do anything against it. Reunion is a wonderful island, full of surprises, with beathtaking landscapes, and extremely rich in fauna and flora. So yes, you may find cockroaches once in a while, and you know what, there may even be mosquitos at night!
I personnally came to the Reunion to hike on the first week and rest the last days on a beautiful place, and I got more than I could imagine. This island is amazing, local people are incredibly kind, and so were the people of this hotel as far as I'm concerned. so I totally recommend it!
