I traveled solo in Bacolod City from 24-27 January 2012 for an official business. I stumbled upon Circle Inn via tripadvisor because of its ranking.
Well, upon check-in, by coincidence, I was greeted by the lion dance. It was rather late for their Chinese New Year celebration but it was nice though. Check-in was a breeze. The bellstaff is polite.
I stayed at their deluxe room. The room was clean and complete with basic amenities, plus it has a working table and swivel chair. There is also a big sofa. Bed is also comfortable with a good duvet threadcount. Aircon is noiseless. Lighting is also cozy. Heavy drapes are reliable considering that the location is just on the ground floor.
Their toilet and bathroom is also clean and has good water pressure. When I asked for a hairdryer, they easily provide one.
Pros:
The lounge area and cafe interiors are good with strong wifi signal but since I am using a broadband, I didn't maximize the service. They have a koi pond which is really relaxing to view. The sprawling staircase is nice to look at though I haven't tried using it. Their pool is relaxing and clean although it is quite small. It has nice pool chairs.
The hall leading to the rooms have a touch of native Pinoy as well as the room's wardrobe.
The bellstaff doubled as waitstaff in the inn's cafe. They are polite and helpful. The cafe's ala carte menu is delicious, though their breakfast buffet are not impressive due to limited selections.
Cons:
What turned me off is the receptionists. I wonder why they are not being attentive and are not even smiling? I am not sure if the guest has been too demanding but they are not really smiling. It's as if you are not in the City of Smiles when you meet them. The guards do not open the door for the guest. I mean, I stayed there almost a week yet the guards are not that too helpful even if they saw you carrying so much stuff upon disembarking a vehicle. No greetings whatsoever! It seemed to me that their jobs are painstaking. I agree with the comment of Mr. Tokyo here. I think the management may want to train them again for a customer service and hospitality class.
They don't offer free airport transfer considering the price. One-way costs a minimum of Php500 for 2 pax. They won't split it if you're travelling alone.
Recommendation:
All in all, the hotel is a good choice because of the facilities. I think it has been newly-renovated. I could appreciate the ambience and the bellstaff. Might consider staying there again.
