“At first view not impressive!”

I have been there just recently. We stayed for two days and came back for another day after our island trip in North of Cebu.

We came back because we are satisfied of our stay. It is true the general appearance of the Pensionne is not inviting. But we were there because of the review. It is true service and the rooms are well kept. In that time when we were there, the renovation and construction of the new building was ongoing. Yet the rooms are impressive. nice furniture and very nice interior. Comfort room is very clean too. Staff are very casually accommodating and friendly.

I am recommending this to budget conscious travelers. Good B&B. Breakfast is just enough.

This is Hotel is not easy to find but most taxi cab drivers knew this place. At about less than 100 meters, you can take a taxi from there.

Room Tip: If one prefers hot and cold shower do not choose standard or studio. but other room choice have. Ro...

“Quiet Place, Good Food, Nice People”

As the old adage goes . . .you can't judge a book by its cover. This is the same when picking a place to stay! This hotel nestled in a quiet neighborhood in the queen city of the south can prove that looks can really be deceiving . . . the facade may look old but once you get inside, you're in for a big surprise! Rooms are spacious, the toilet and bath are clean and the food is great!

“room ok, breakfast disgusting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

i chose a deluxe room in this hotel against a standard room in the mango hotel (i actually cancelled mango because it was not clear to me from the reservation if it was for one or for two) which was a mistake in hindsight. the room itself was ok to stay for a few nights. it is an old building in a shanty neighborhood, everything is a little run down but this is normal in the philippines. the water pressure in the shower was low, no power plug in the bathroom, not enough plugs in the room, bring your multipliers if you want to operate shaver, toothbrush, computer and phone at the same time. most hotels in this price range are worse. in thailand or in cambodia you get a hotel three times as good for half the price.

the room was booked with free breakfast. the choice of included breakfast was disgusting. breakfast is very important for me, it is how the day starts. bad breakfast can spoil the day. when i booked the hotel at expedia it said 'full breakfast and free wifi'. brekfast was continental at best. it included three choices either with pork or with bread that has a very high quantity of sugar in it. they also do not serve coffee, only powder in a small bag mixed with sugar and milk powder and hot water. i ended up to eat eggs and rice every day drinking tea. wifi worked most of the time, sometimes it was on and off.

most of the staff was friendly.

next time i will book another hotel which has a breakfast buffet included like the mango

Room Tip: as for a quiet room to the back of the building. sepulverda is a quiet street, nevertheless filippin...

“Clean, Cheap, Nice staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

Stayed there for four days in November. Arrived at Cebu at around 5AM, had a breakfast in McDo and called the hotel for possibility of early check-in. unfortunately, all rooms were still occupied when we reached the hotel at around 8AM. Luckily, one of the guests checked-out early (around 9AM), and we were allowed to check in to the room as soon as it was cleaned. The room was quite spacious, with 2 double beds, a fully-functioning hot and cold shower, the water supply was A-OK, and the cable TV had the channels that I want. :)
The staff were superb; they were very accommodating in answering our questions (where to find CNT lechon, how to go to places, etc), though they were not 100% fluent in speaking Filipino (you might need to guess the meaning of some words contextually). When we brought some pochero from Abuhan Pochero and asked them to reheat and serve to our room, they willingly reheated the food for just a P15 peso fee.
