“EVERY TIME”

Regular traveller to Cebu and always stay at Montebello. Staff are ALWAYS more than
friendly and the reception staff exceptional in attending to my bookings which more often
than not are conducted from overseas. Pool is very inviting and refreshing on returning
from excursions or other activities and has a life guard on duty. The restrauant has a
variety of fair on the menu with theme nights on regular occasions often including live
music. Intimate pool side bar which is open ALL hours although 2am is usually my limit
The grounds are spacious and well maintained with a small pond where kids are able to
fish. Not sure if the fishing gear is part of the service. The whole complex is based on
Spanish lines and creates a relaxed ambience which is a blessing after the helter skelter
hustle amd bustle of this vibrant city. There is a shopping mall virtually within the grounds,
well less than a 5 minute stroll, as well as Ayala and SM mega shopping malls which are a
sort (and inexpensive) taxi ride away .Plenty of cafes, eaterys etc at the doorstep but really
everything one needs for a relaxed and carefree stay is right there in Montebello Villa. Will
be staying again in May so one of the 3 seperate rooms will not be available (hopefully)

Room Tip: Two seperate cottages pool side. 3 upper rooms at one end of the complex seperate from the main...

“Family and Couple Resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

It's typical middleclass hotel where you easily can spend your holidays. Rooms are bit older but clean and acceptable - although there could be a minibar or refrigerator and a safe. Air-con is a bit loud, so if you have not such a good sleep, maybe it will disturb you. TV didn't work.

Service is good, they help you when you ask. Breakfast buffet is okay, could be way better though but you can make your continental or american breakfast and filipino as well.

The hotel offers also special service like laundry, why I chose it. This service was very expensive, though, didn't expect it. You pay per piece, so if you have a lot of laundry you spend a lot of money. For example 60P for one single t-shirt. And they need 2 days for it, if you want it in one day they charge +80%!! I was glad I could wash some clothes but these prices are not fair. Also that I had to pay 40P for printing 2 pages is a daylight robbery. They have 3 computers in their businesscenter (where you also can use the printer) but you have to pay for it! In my opinion this is not a good service, they should offer this for free if you use it in a reasonable way (I don't expect to print there 50 pages).

The best ist the location, just a short walk away from Gaisano Country Mall where you can find anything you need and have a ot of restaurants.

So that's why my opinion is: good hotel, I could recommend it because of the location and the nice resort. But I probably won't come again because of these extracharges what gave me a bad feeling after all.

“Little Paradise in Smoggy Cebu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

The nice thing about the Montebello is that it offers one a nice respite from all the smog and traffic in Cebu. It is conveniently located behind Gaisano Mall. So you can get some groceries, supplies or even use an internet cafe while you stay here. There is also a small shopping mall called Banilad Mall? within 5 minutes walking that has a number of really nice restaurants.

The exterior of the hotel is very nice and spacious. The Montebello is the only hotel I know in its price range that provides an very nice park like setting for one to enjoy during their stay in this otherwise hectic town. While I would agree the exterior of Montebello deserves 4 stars, the rooms are probably closer to 3 stars or below. Although the rooms are clean, they look a bit dated. If you can get an updated room. Also, the rooms in one building are more spacious than the rooms in the other building.

Tip: When you exit the airport, walk across the street and up a level/stairs to use the taxi stands other locals use. There will be a queue for a taxi in which security will also provide you piece of paper with the taxi's number on it in case you have complaints. Make sure the taxi driver turns on the meter. If I recall correctly, I think my fare to the Montebello was under 200 pesos. Perhaps around 150 pesos.

“Above and beyond service”

On a recent trip I had taken an 8am ferry from Pitogo on President Carlos Island, Bohol arriving in Cebu at noon. As my flight back to America was very late that evening and not wanting to lug my luggage around Cebu, I went to the Montebello and asked Eddie the Bell Hop if he would watch my bags for me. For a few hundered pesos the hotel took my bags for me while enjoying a few drinks and lunch poolside and some last minute shopping at the mall. Eddie then offered to assist in repacking my luggage and the use of his scale. The hotel taxi to the airport was about 600 pesos including tip. Of the thousands of guest this hotel must have every year, Eddie always remembers me by name.

Room Tip: Ground floor near small pool is quiet.

“heaven on earth they make you feel like your family love this place”

I first stayed at the Radisson blu for 5 days then I found this hotel on the internet. woo it was wonderful. If you need to live like your rich then stay at a much more expensive hotel and show off. But if your normal then this is a wonderful hotel. Is clean friendly and safe. And it does not cost a fortune to stay here. It is romance and very relaxing. the pool is great all the staff was great the internet there worked great. Fish in the pond was really cool. Is with in walking distance to Country Mall so you can get what ever you need close. If you need to spend lots of money to be happy then go ahead but this place you do not have to do that. I am sure there are some who will not like the hotel but my guess it is them not the hotel that is not right. LOL. go to the Montebello and have the time of your life. Peace
